Thanks to Engineering and Science, the Manticore has been purged of the nanite infestation that had killed members of the Iota-18 research team and then turned them into "zombies." As the ship flies to Earth to report to the Consul General, Dr. Chalice and Admiral Atragon-9 are recuperating from their nanite-induced medical emergencies.
