USS REPUBLIC MISSION BRIEFING 28NOV11

 

The Republic still in orbit around Kanista, a small planet more or less hidden by the Nebula CX9344, known to the locals as the Chelix Nebula. Originally planning to stop here to add it to our star maps after being informed of it's presence by local traders and long-range frieghter captains, the Republic finds itself investigating the effects that a rogue comet has had upon the population, as well as a few members of our crew. Effects of the comet seem to have ranged from outright death, to some sort of cellular transformation of the populace turning them into.....we are not sure what yet, or those still unaffected. Of our away team, a few where injured while on the planet, and are themselves showing some rather strange signs. The away team members as well as a few survivors that have been rescued from the surface, are being kept in isolation in the cargo bay for the moment.
