Guilt trip - Eva log

Eva propped herself on her elbows, wincing as her head throbbed. This was a headache that could put any Romulan Ale hangover to shame. She reached for the cup of coffee, one of the med tech had graciously refilled for her.

 

Vilanne had tried to convince her that she had done all she could given the circumstances, but part of her refused to believe so. The doctor replayed the last few hours before the rescue in her head.

 

Taking a sip of the hot coffee, she shook her head slightly,she had failed her duty as a physician. The concussion had certainly slowed her down, even incapacitated her in the last hours before the rescue, but decided to have a talk with Vil, concerning the standard medical kit carried for short terms away mission.

 

She shook her head again, it hadn't been the med kit, it hadn't been the injury... she knew that. She had been selfish and panicked when it came down to it. Despite the concussion and blood loss, she should have been able to attend to the 3 others and not focus on Jaz's well being. As difficult as it was to accept, the symbiont was not the first priority, Tang,Mitar and Ian should have been. It would be in her report.

 

She downed the cup of coffee, closing her eyes as the feeling of guilt and failure washed over her, amplifying the migraine.
