Waiting

It doesn't matter if the accommodations are a steel cot and iron bars or silk sheets and room service. A prison is still a prison if you can't move about of your own free will. After you've tried all the viable means to exit, sometimes you're left with only one option. Wait. Waiting was not one of her favorite pastimes but, given the circumstances, she really had no alternative. The encrypted message was, cryptic. Accompany the escorts waiting outside the door willingly, or unwillingly. The choice was hers. She was to ask no questions, simply follow her escorts.

She knew better than to ask them anything. To instruct her thusly was an insult and it rankled her more that she cared to admit. There simply was no reason to question them. They knew nothing of her or her mission. They were to deliver her from Point A to Point B. End of Story.

She kept her senses attuned to where they were going. Use of turbo lifts. Directional markings at corridor intersections. She was not at all surprised to come to a docking bay. There were very few ways to leave a space station, and most of them were unpleasant.

Through the docking ring and onto a ship of non descript. She saw no crew moving about, but that in itself was not surprising. Coming to a stop before an unmarked door, the escort to her left pressed a PADD into her hand while the man on the right opened the door. With a gentle press to the small of her back she entered the quarters and turned to see the doors close and hear the click of the seal set into place. Sitting down, she unlocked the encrypted message, triggering another message to be sent "eyes only" to Admiral Atragon-9 onboard the USS Manticore.

She let out a frustrated sigh. There was nothing to do but wait ...and boy did she hate waiting.
