The Manticore has found the missing and presumed destroyed Wyvern in a pocket of dark space in the Badlands, but is unable to reach them, except with a probe on a tether. The fighter is badly damaged and the crew is running out of air. Unknown to the Manticore crew, the rescue attempt by the Chimera caused the Wyvern to rip open, spilling the four crew members out into the pocket of space, clinging to the wreckage and down to their last 50 minutes of air.
