As someone in the Washington, DC metro area... I felt it over here as well. Though it should be fine. Everything appears to be business as normal from what I've seen.

Oh big deal. In California it has to be at least a 6 before it even becomes a topic of conversation.

Hey, since this happened in DC can we blame the Tea Party for it?

My first earthquake.

And before I get to truly experience my first tornado. Go figure.

Interesting. We had an earthquake last year at around this time (only a 4.0 or something). I didn't really feel it, but some of my co-workers did.

I just heard it on the news, they said a building fell on a car, nothing more.

I think now I know how people in the south feel when I make fun of them for freaking out at a snowflake...

It's a snowflake! Run! RUN!! It's global warming.. er, cooling! Global cooling!

Not that I have room to complain. Last winter, based on a *rumor* we might get half an inch downtown - something that hasn't happened since the 1970s - the city council bought snowploughs and snowblowers. Didn't even have the fiscal sense to rent them.

This Just In: S&P downgraded the DC earthquake to a 5.7.

A 5.9 earthquake on the eastcoast is a pretty big deal, given the nature of the geology. ;)
