Cptn Swain -> MISSION RECAP: When we last left off, we'd been given orders to divert from the science mission to a nearby system called Caldor, an isolated system formerly under Dominion rule, that has been experiencing geological events, overwhelming their emergency response systems.

Cptn Swain -> After two days at high warp, we're about to enter the Caldor system, where we will render aide.

Taryn Castell -> ::In sickbay, Taryn was reviewing their triage arrangements to make sure that nothing had been overlooked. She leaned on the counter with both arms, staring at the display terminal, turning the page now and again with a flick of her finger. Cargo Bay One had been totally transformed to hold the sick and injured.::

Maryse Dubois -> ::Walking by with a PADD in hand. She stops when she catches Rue in the corner of her eye. Looks up and smirks.:: Come to check on us?

Cptn Swain -> ::Nods::

Rue Wydown -> Aye, wanted to see how things were going down here. Whether or no' you are ready.

Cptn Swain -> ::Stands, tea in hand, and walks towards the viewer:: Once we arrive, put us in low orbit and inform the locals we've arrived.

Fae -> Aye.

Cptn Swain -> What's our status?

Maryse Dubois -> Oh we're ready. Our new Lt. has Cargo Bay 1 ready to go for triage. ::Pointing to Taryn.:: The serious patients and those needing surgery will be put here in Sickbay.

Fae -> Medical and security have had time to prep, but haven't called status up recently.

Taryn Castell -> ::She glanced up briefly as she heard Maryse speaking with someone and grinned as she saw Rue.:: We have plenty of treatments ready for bruises, if that's what you're worried about, Commander.

Fae -> The engines are tired. XO say get here fast, so I pushed em. No big problem if you don't want to push more.

Cptn Swain -> ::Nods:: Anything from the planet, recently?

Fae -> Negative. They are still shopping for help, but nothing real specific.

Rue Wydown -> You have enough supplies or do we need to re-direct some energy towards the replicators? ::trying to stay out of the way of the bustling group, starting to regret listening to her ex- about management ideas at the moment, feeling a bit ackward about it::

Cptn Swain -> ACTION> On screen, an arid, ruddy world appears with sparse clouds. Looking a little like Mars, it does, however, have a few large bodies of water and polar ice caps.

Ryan Mesner -> Not exactly Risa. ::he muttered from Tactical::

Maryse Dubois -> It would be nice if we had some reserves just in case. I'd also like for security to be placed in the Cargo Bay, and here if at all possible. I know we are here to help them, but they were former members of the Dominion.

Cptn Swain -> ::Smirks:: Put us into orbit and open a channel.

Fae -> Big population centers are getting hit by a big quake. He might have lost his equipment or power.

Cptn Swain -> ::Stands and moves to the mission operations console:: Inform medical, begin tracking the seismic activity. Alert status 1.

Rue Wydown -> +Matsumura+Just checking on the arrangements. Medical would like some additional assistance in both their triage areas just to make sure their team is secure.

Ryan Mesner -> That was a hell of a quake. ::he adujusted the mainviewer to zoom in closer to the large cities, the damage apparent from even this height::

Fae -> :: Is willing to use impulse under very low power to hover over the quake zone rather than orbiting the whole planet ::

Cptn Swain -> Any luck reestablishing contact with the surface?

Rue Wydown -> Okay, keep me posted on what's going on. And if you need extra hands on deck, lemme know. I'm not that out of pratice.

Taryn Castell -> ::Nods and straightens, sweeping her padd into her pocket and striding to her duty station. Sickbay was as prepped as it could be, but she couldn't help but check the supplies to make sure everything was at hand.::

Fae -> Orbitals Control seems to be off air. I'm finding other stations but right now the gist of the conversation is 'oh no not again.'

Cptn Swain -> Gal'a> ::Doing his best to stay calm:: Power is out all over the city. Our communications network was pretty patched together as it was, we haven't been able to raise any of the other cities yet, other than Dalargon. They report minimal damage.

Taryn Castell -> ::Sickbay supplies ready, she also checked the emergency kits that the away teams would be taking with them. They were all in order, so she had them taken to the transporter rooms to be picked up there when needed.::

Rue Wydown -> ::ducks, thinking she saw a red blip on her chin before heading down to her seat, watching the view screen as she does::

Cptn Swain -> Gal'a> I am transmiting coordinates for the major hospital centers in all six cities now. Our relief efforts are overwhelemed... and now this latest quake... ::shakes his head::

Cptn Swain -> Community search parties are being formed after each quake. We don't have the man power to use our small military force without looking like we're picking favorites between the cities.

Charlotte Matsumura -> ::pulling up what information she can, regarding the sites, and reassigning reserve members::

Cptn Swain -> Gal'a> Our medical supplies are limited, and we are starting to run low on fresh water and able bodies to provide care for the sick and wounded.

Cptn Swain -> Gal'a> We have started to set up shelters, but we have precious few resources to spare for them. The situation is... tenuous. I will also put you in touch with our senior medical leaders and the emergency response teams.

Rue Wydown -> Community search and rescue can be a benifit if they're organized and trained to do the work. If not we may end up with additional wounded. ::pauses: Our medical staff can assist with that. We can also work on getting water and food set up. Do you have a hiarachy of disaster support in place or is that something you need assistance with as well?

Fae -> :: Starts looking for medical facilities on the planet that aren't overwhelemed. Perhaps transporting people there might be an option? ::

Cptn Swain -> Gal'a> To be honest, we were not prepared for this a crisis of thi scope.

Fae -> :: But focuses primarily on understanding the quake physics for a bit ::

Fae -> Captain. Looks like the capitol's geothermal planet is gonna blow.

Rue Wydown -> They're going to need some organization of the civilian search corps. I'd like to send in the Marines, but I don't want to send them down in the midst of another potential destructive wave.

Cptn Swain -> Anyway. For next week, we will move ahead alittle bit. The geothermal plant vented steam to relieve pressure, and is now stable, if not still in danger. Engineering will be working with the plant operations to see if they can prevent the plant from blowing up.

Cptn Swain -> Medical, Security and the Marines will be under the Command of Wydown and will be working with the folks on the planet to begin relief activities.

Tandaris Admiran -> Can I wear a funny hard hat?
