The Manticore is in the Badlands to destroy a dozen secret

Federation probes left in this strange area of space, with the help

of the Wyvern and Griffin fighter/shuttles. The Wyvern was disabling

a probe when a terrible series of events led to the explosion of the probe

and (it seemed) the Wyvern. The Manticore crew is in shock, but is

finishing the mission, unaware that the Wyvern crew now seems to be

alive and stuck in a starless void in a severly damaged shuttle.
