The Best Idea For a New ST Series

Might I dare suggest Star Trek: Star Trek. Where a ship is assigned to the Beta Quarderent for a ten year tour of duty of exploration. Where Starfleet can lend a hand if the problem is big enough.

Beta Quaderant is the home to the Klingons and Romulans so I think the Federation has been there a time or 2. :) maybe they should make a series about a Space Station in cardassian space post dominionwars helping to rebuild Cardassia with an Andorian captain, Ferangi officers, a Cardassian science officer, a half klingon, a bajoran, and a doctor named victor. Just a thought I pulled out of no where ::innocent smile:: :) oh and also call it the Sky Harbour Aegis ::continues smile:: :D

I kinda would like to see them do DS9 in a different way. Make it a remote base that deals with interstellar commerce issues (Trade wars, pirates, etc)

 

I think DS9 was a good idea gone bad. There were too many distractions away from the basic premise of the Federation (DS9 wasent even a Federation base for Petes sake). Make it a True Federation base with only Federation officers piloting Federation ships. And NO BORG!!!!!!!!!!!

Most people call DS9 a bad show and that it was crap but those people usually never watched and noticed the complex character development and friction created inside the Cardassian space station by such characters as Kira, Odo, and sometimes Quark. I think DS9 was a great series that never got the respect it truly deserved. The soap opera story lines is only half true for it was not stupid and poorly acted like a soap opera that comparison can only be made with the interconnections with in the series. DS9 was a complex series that explored the aspects of religion and dangers of war that was based upon greatly developed series which I knew more about then say Riker or Leforge for we shown more of their personalities and home lives. It also had more Gray's then TOS, TNG, VOY, and ENT for they had characters such as Quark and Garek who were characters who were probably the most complex. The one true downfall of DS9 was that it was a series that had to be watched through from the 1st season to ever really understand it and its complexities for I had the same attitude until I started from episode one and onward. This has been a Nemesis rant to open your eyes to all of the glories of trek :)

Well that's the problem with a lot of soap-like shows, you miss one, you might as well miss 'em all. but i for one would prefer a show that continues along one basic background storyline and builds up from there. Being able to "pick up and go" makes it harder to form a clear image of or to form a bond with each character

well boston public and other school-type shows can keep going why not the academy? personally i don't think it's too hot an idea, to teenie ya know? if they DID do it, getting colm meaney (O'Brian) to be the engineering proffessor would be a must

Yea, but to that effect, or is it affect....oh well, any ways!  Boston Public's story revolves around the teachers though, not the students, if you were to do one like that, I'd be more about the academy instructers, and how their wasting their life away not being on a star ship!

While I did enjoy seeing the drastic new development Enterprise added to the entire Borg "story," I think they've used up all of their plots. :D

I like the Boston Public story idea Jeri Ryan could attend for she already has some exprience in that field. It would be more mature but missing several Star Trek key elements I'd give the Acad series a shot but only if they had another series out there aswell so I could get my better trek. :)

I know what they could do an academy series yes but a Red Squadron series so we get the TNG and TOS feeling of exploration but the youthful academy feeling that Huff really seems to want. :(

I'd have to agree with the Academy series. If this were to happen, we could see how the Delta fleet did after the Crusher incident, etc., etc. I think that would be a really interesting series, IMO.

 

I was always a fan of episodes dealing with Starfleet Academy and Earth. The graphics were always amazing.

I think the Titan would be a good series because, it leaves off from TNG and there would be 2 familiar faces and maybe even more.

Yeah but a lot of people would find it hard to react to Riker being captain after 15 long years of Picard I could cope with a Chakotay captain but I don't know if it would have the same flow with a Riker captain although Frakes is a talented actor ;)

Well Riker has taken the CO's chair before in Best of Both Worlds so it might not be so bad. But one thing for sure is it would be different.

I wish they would continue on with the Enterprise-E. That might have a cool story line to it.

Well images they said TNG sucked so I think it was a bad flick no one insults my picard.  :cry: now why doesn't anyone want me as a captain of a starship braving the elements in search of new world and civilizations WHY!!!! :cry:

I thought TNG was the best series out of all of them. But thats my opinion.
