Oh Spot by far. Any cat who can change its sex, hair length and color patterns, and turn into a lizard yet still manage to have a litter of kittens...thats an awesome pet!

Once again, why arent their choices for pets on the STSF ships, or is the Reaent the only ship that has pets?  Wait the Qob has one, grr...Vanroy found that targ in office and named it after me....

 

I choose Spot just because it was funny to see data interact with him throughout all of TNG...and it brought me to tears and the end of Generations when data found him in the rubble and started to cry....::sniff:: good stuff...

You know what I'm going to ask Khre Riov t'Rex if I can have a pet aboard the Talon oh what great fun would it the ship is being blown apart by klingons and I'm worried about "Stron" in my quarters. While it is true that I am a cat person, and have always liked Data's interaction with Spot (it has, for the most part, been authentic.  He obviously does not own Spot.  Spot owns him, a situation to which any cat owner can attest.) I must admit, the internal musings that Archer shares with Porthos, and the dog's loyal reaction to his master's moods, are heartwarming to say the least.

 

I find myself divided, so must abstain from this vote.

I prefer things with attitude and complexity.  While Porthos' blind dedication is admirable, I love the rapport between Data and Spot.  (And the fact that Worf was allergic, lol).  

 

I also like the crap in Phlox' lab.  (Now did anyone notice that in spite of his one mention about how odd it was for Humans to personify and talk to their pets, he spent an entire episode talking to the creatures in his lab?  While we're at it, why is it that he's talked about being uncomfortable with Human casual touching, but does the very thing with just about anything that walks into his sickbay?  Yes, he said he was working on it, but it seems to come extraordinarily naturally, lol.)
