Crash Calestorm

Ralphing

The interior of the shuttlecraft Hobbes was a scene of ordered chaos - officers calling out names and status per roll call orders from Commander Wesley, and any injuries were being noted. Several interior panels and consoles were knocked askew and equipment had been flung across the length of the vehicle. Power was completely out, and with no warning lights or signals, it only added to the creepy feel of the overall and sudden silence following the air to ground impact.

They had no idea what happened, but it was fair to say that the shuttle had been EMPed and knocked out of the sky over Wei. ‘Who, what and why’ were on the agenda, but SOP was on the immediate agenda: The ‘Creek officers needed to realize the extent of their overall damage, grab what survival equipment they were able to carry, and move away from the impact zone.

Closest to Lieutenant Mrkath, Captain Calestorm noted the CAG seemed slightly out of it. Shaking off her own disorientation, the captain efficiently disengaged herself from the restraining webbing and stood with the intent to move forward into the cockpit and assist her officer.

Two things happened simultaneously: she felt a sharp soreness in her bad knee, and felt the sudden onset of nausea. She doubled over and retched the contents of her stomach onto the shuttle deck plates.

Oh, now there was an attractive command moment, tossing your cookies in front of the crew.

Once the horrible feeling passed, the captain carefully stood upright and gingerly flexed her knee; mobile, just hellfire sore, and she probably banged it up with all the jostling. It was something she could deal with, no worries.

The nausea was unexpected. She was obviously no med tech, but her uneducated guess was with the inertial dampeners knocked off line and the harsh descent, the rough ride incoming with the atmospheric pressure changes had compromised something with her inner ear.

In her thirty plus year career, Crash as a pilot had survived thousands of star fighter jump missions, coming through each launch and landing relatively unscathed. She gets motion sick on a diplomatic mission? Motion sickness…really?! This was just embarrassing.

The nausea welled in her throat again and she managed a mumbled ‘Aw hell’ before retching again on the deck.
