Lt Cdr Joy,

 

I appreciate your thoughtful explanation of how the Joy sisterhood works. While I have no personal knowledge of the shared mindset between beings such as yourself and your sisters or that of a Trill symbiont and its host, I can appreciate its complexities, comforts and additional knowledge it brings.

 

After reviewing the information you provided as well as the current mission parameters, I believe it is appropriate for Admiral BluRox to request that you recuse yourself from participation in the mission details. While unfortunately I can no longer make you privy to the mission details, I do believe the hive mind could potentially jeopardize what we are setting out to accomplish. This may be unintentional on your part, but it is still a risk that we must negate for the safety of all the beings on this crew, yourself included.

 

I know this is this is not the first time we’ve had a discussion about your ability to perform a directive during a mission. I do not suppose this will be the last. I will do my due diligence to review both your capabilities and limitations during mission parameter reviews and consult with you when appropriate.
