Same place, whole new look

I was browsing through startrek.com today and saw that they are remodeling the site.  :D   I like the changes so far.  THe only thing I don't like (which is no biggie) is when I choose a topic and then a sub-topic.  For example: library-->episodes. I think they should make the subtopic line a bit larger.

 

I must admit though...overall I like it--a lot!!

So now everyone's finding out about it...interesting....

 

Overall I like the design but I do have a few select issues with it. I'm going to reserve judgement until the final release in the not-to-distant future. :D

All I can say is that it's really silver.  Too much of really the same color to me.

I'm gonna say I like the old site better. It looked more ... more ... Trekkie? I dunno, more like a ship console. The new *silvery* site looks more like the generic websites I see all over the place nowadays. Reminds me alot of a news site. Does NOT catch my attention.

 

Then again, I am the one still whining that AOL upgraded from the best version ever... 1.5

Personally, I think the layout looks a lot like TNN's website layout. Anyone agree with me on that?

 

But, overall, it does look pretty good. :D

 

It looks like the biggest thing they need to work on (of course) is the Community section. hehe

I dislike the new version highly. It makes me feel like Star Trek is trying to make everything feel "Enterprise" with the silver and all.

 

The old version I liked more becasue it reminded me of the LCARS system that we all know Star Trek to have. It had some color and style, this one is just, well, plain.

Hey there,

 

Well, like it or not, Enterprise is the current Star Trek and thus I can see the reason for having the site look like that. Overall, I do like the new navigation menu. There are a few bugs, but I'm hoping those will be dealt with before the release.
