USS REPUBLIC MISSION BRIEFING

 

The USS Republic-D mortally damaged in the Gamma Quadrant, rescued and brought back to the Alpha quadrant, and subsequently abandoned by the USS Excalibur, has received help from an unexpected source. The new USS Republic-E, which was slated to be commissioned in the spring, but also being ahead in it's production schedule, has been dispatched from the Utopia Planitia Shipyards to pick up the remains of the Republic-D and it's crew and tow it back to Mars to be decommissioned, repair being beyond practical. Decisions on crew assignments to the new Sovereign-class ship will be decided once the two crews have a chance to meet.
