The Manticore is enroute to the farthest corner of the Federation in search of the USS Coxeter, a ship testing the Hexacosichoron 600 Engine as part of the Tesseract Drive project. It would enable a ship to travel in four dimensions and arrive at any destination instantaneously. Manticore is one day out from the Coxeter's last known position and is in an area of space it has never seen before.
