Capt Rian Kwai

Regrets

Regrets

Captain Rian "Kiwi" Kwai

“I’m sorry, what in my resume indicated to you that I was medically trained? Was it the hand to hand combat scores, or hostage negotiations? Oh, I know! I bet it was the criminal forensics class. That makes me qualified to know the difference between a headache and a head injury.”

“Let me remind you: I gave you a choice. The only ideas I could come up with were to go to sickbay or sit tight in that stupid yacht. If you had any other bright ideas, you damn well should have said something instead of blaming me for making a choice.”

Three days later and those last words still haunted Captain Rian Kwai. Those short sentences were what she left the Admiral with before BluRox stormed off. Rian would have stomped off too but the woman had quite literally backed her into a corner at Quarks. Kwai may not have claws, but she did have bite when forced into a fight.

Did she regret what she said? Heck yes. Who didn't when you have a fight with someone you thought of as a friend? Unfortunately Rian's pride was still stinging too much to trust herself to keep a civil tongue in her mouth to apologize just yet.

She would, eventually. It wasn’t in her nature to hold grudges against people she cared about. Maybe when she saw Blu again in a few days she’d be ready to say sorry. Maybe if Blu was more sensible when she saw her. If she saw her...

Joined gods, Rian was going to have to figure out how to diplomatically handle conflict with BluRox because she certainly wasn't going to let the woman browbeat her for doing her job. Not only had this outburst embarrassed Kwai because of the public display, but also because she had lost some credibility for being such a hot head this time.

It was not very professional of her. Feeling so sick and physically worn out wasn't a valid excuse. Rian knew better. Three days of replaying the whole crappy affair in her head reminded the Trill that she needed to regain her self control and, well, follow her own damn advice.

Suck it up Kwai. Just suck it up.

Nice log. Oh, and you can apologize just about anytime.....I'll at least listen.... :D

And it wasn't entirely public, I at least took it over to the corner.....
