Rihannsu Timeline of Important Dates in History

Rihannsu: 0 Terran: 369 AD: The Rihannsu Diaspora

________________________________________

A core population of Vulcans rejects the philosophy of Surak, refusing to suppress their emotions. Vastly outnumbered; thousands of expatriate Vulcans board impulse vessels and follow their leader Tellus on an epic journey across the quadrant. Eventually a wormhole swallows their fleet, depositing it hundreds of light-years away. Tellus and his followers found a new home world there. In Federation Standard, the planets are is known as Romulus and Remus. To the Rihannsu, ch’Rihan and ch’Havran are the names given to the two worlds that were founded.

Rihannsu: 105 Terran: 474 AD : New Worlds Encountered on the Journey

________________________________________

Admiral Debrune leads dissident elements to Yadalla Prime and other worlds looking for a place to settle.

Rihannsu: 188 Terran : 557 AD: ch’Rihan and ch’Havran Founded

________________________________________

Just as the fleeing ships began to lose hope, an unstable wormhole formed that swallowed the Vulcans-in-Exile and deposited them in a twin planet system. After preliminary examinations were made, it was decided that these worlds would become the new home worlds of those that left Vulcan, who named them ch’Rihan and ch’Havran. A lottery was held to determine which worlds the denizens of the various ships were going to be sent to colonize. Though it was the voluntary actions of Karatek that took his followers to the more hostile world of ch'Havran in order to harvest the harsh worlds resources for their kinsmen on the sister world. The remaining travelers remained on the great ships that brought them to their new homeworlds and became known as the Ship-Clans who provided a level of transportation as well as communications between the two worlds..

Rihansu: 213 Terran: 582 AD: Tellus Dies Romulan Clan wars begin

________________________________________

After settlement began, the newly named Rihannsu returned to the war-like patterns that they left on Vulcan with numerous conflicts emerging for various reasons; from territorial disputes to acquisition of resources. It was from this atmosphere that a new warlord formed and this came in the form of T’Rehu. Within ten years, she had built a powerful army that was far stronger than any on the Two Worlds which she used to take power, through the support of the Ship-Clans, and gain recognition from the Grand Council. The Rihannsu acknowledged her as their new Ruling Queen, with only S'task refusing to accept her and leaving the council chambers once this occurred. Several years later during her rule, famine had struck the south continent and she called the Council once more where she derided them for incompetence. Once again S'task turned his back on her dishonorable actions but this would be the last time as she had him killed in the council chambers. Thus began T'Rehu's tyranny that lasted for 18 years where she was both benevolent as well as ruthless on the lives of her subjects. Her rule would come to an end when twenty years later when the war-like clans of the eastern continents of ch'Havran revolted against her and defeated her armies through the support of the Ship-Clans. Rather than take power for themselves, they decided on a return to the previous style of government.

Rihannsu: 295 Terran: 664AD: Rihannsu are united under Jo’rek – Kimara codifies D’era

________________________________________

After the death of Tellus, the Romulus descended into inter-racial conflicts known as the Clan Wars. This period saw brutal infighting which came only to an end when Jo’rek rallied his people. After this, Kimara codified the teachings of D’Era and helped in the stabilization of the newly formed Rihannsu state.

Rihannsu: 305 Terran: 674 AD: Rihannsu Age of Expansion begins

________________________________________

It was during the Age of Expansion that the Rihannsu returned to the stars where they began a period of conquering neighboring alien races. The people of Gorwah were conquered and became the first culture absorbed into the Rihannsu state.

Rihannsu: 566 Terran: 935 AD: Rihannsu Civil War begins

________________________________________

By the time that the Rihannsu had approximately 100 settlements on other worlds, expanding through space, the ability to govern these colonies grew more and more difficult. This resulted in the Rihannsu Civil War. It was the actions of Admiral Valkis that resulted in the formation of a true interstellar government after him declaring himself Emperor as well as forming the Rihannsu Senate to serve as his advisors.

Rihannsu: 569 Terran: 938 AD: Founding of the Rihannsu Senate

________________________________________

Following the first meeting of the Rihannsu Senate, the Rihannsu Star Empire is formed. Afterword, the Rihannsu people and their government become recognizably modern, possessing the same culture and holding the same views as modern Rihannsu.

Rihannsu: 901 Terran: 1270-1370 AD: Rihannsu-Vulcan Wars

________________________________________

The re-emergence of the wormhole that took them to Romulus allows the Rihannsu people to return to Vulcan in impulse ships armed with atomic weapons. Their assault on their original homeworld ends only when the wormhole closes for the last time. Over the course of the war, Vulcan strategy and tactics prove superior to Rihannsu aggression.

Rihannsu: 1042 Terran: 1411 AD: Rihannsus Invent the Singularity Drive

________________________________________

Rihannsu scientists working for the Tal Diann—the Rihannsu military intelligence service—discovers a way to isolate the singularity at the heart of a black hole. By containing the singularity in a magnetic "bottle", Rihannsu starships can fling themselves across great distances at speeds faster than light. While not a true "warp" drive, this engine later powers both the Rihannsu cloaking device and—once they acquire it—true warp technology.

Rihannsu: 1327 Terran: 1696 AD: Praetor Rule Established on Romulus

________________________________________

Tired of grappling with emperors desiring power beyond their station, the Rihannsu Senate officially abolishes the position of Emperor, replacing it with a Praetor. As the supreme executive of the Star Empire, the Praetor commands the military and serves as an ideological example to all Rihannsu. The Senate carefully restricts the Praetor's power, keeping the position subservient to them in all important policy areas.

Rihannsu: 1672 Terran: 2041-2069 AD: Rihannsu-Klingon Wars

________________________________________

Rihannsu expansion ends as the fiercely warlike Klingons ravage the Rihannsu fleets patrolling Klingon borders. While Rihannsu technology proves in all ways superior to that of their more primitive foe, Klingon aggression carries the day.

Rihannsu: 1787 Terran : 2156-2160 AD: Rihannsu-Earth Wars

________________________________________

A brief conflict between a Rihannsu vessel and the U.S.S. Endeavor near Cheron IV results in the retreat of the Human ship and a new understanding between the two races—war is inevitable. Rihannsu warships, far deadlier than their Terran counterparts, take months to cross the distance to Human space due to the distance of the two Empires and the speeds capable at the time. The war that erupts swings immediately in the Rihannsu’s favor, but as Terran ship production increases, the Rihannsu Fleets front line being so far from their own fleet production facilities ultimately prevents rapid response and reinforcement, costing them the war. The Cheron Treaty negotiated via radio establishes the Rihannsu Neutral Zone. During the war and throughout the subsequent negotiations, Humans never see a single Rihannsu. Rihannsu appearance remains a mystery for another 110 years.

Rihannsu: 1788 Terran 2161 AD: Founding of the UFP

________________________________________

Following hard on the heels of the Cheron Treaty, delegates from Andoria, Vulcan, Tellar, Earth, and Alpha Centauri draft the Articles of Federation on Epsilon Eridani. Talks break down once, but further meetings succeed in drafting a constitution acceptable to all. Its language focuses on individual rights and freedoms, granting each world the right to self-determination. Suvok of Vulcan suggests Earth assume the role of capital of the UFP. A representative government is formed, the Federation credit is established, and Starfleet receives its mandate as a multispecies defense force, while protection of the sovereignty of each world is secured by allowing each race its own space fleet. The Tellarites ratify the Articles of Federation first, with the other four races rapidly following suit.

Rihannsu: 1902 Terran: 2271 AD: The Battle of Dumok'azen

________________________________________

Dumok'azen, a small, mineral-rich world on the border of the Rihannsu and Klingon Empires, becomes the site of a bloody battle between the two allied races. The Klingons claim glorious victory while the Rihannsus retreat, increase productivity of warp-capable ships, and bide their time as the Klingon Empire stretches itself thinner.

Rihannsu: 1923 Terran: 2292 AD: Klingon-Rihannsu Alliance Dissolves

________________________________________

After 21 years of worsening relations following the Battle of Dumok'azen, the Rihannsu Senate dissolves the Rihannsu-Klingon alliance. Klingon ships are ordered to quit Rihannsu space, and Romulus withdraws its ambassadors. This marks the beginning of a protracted open hostility between the two races that lasts several decades.

Rihannsu: 1924 Terran: 2293 AD: Khitomer Accords

________________________________________

Praxis, moon of the Klingon homeworld and source of much of the Empire's energy reserves, explodes after overmining destabilizes the moon's core. The Klingon Empire, fearing attacks of opportunity from the Rihannsus, approaches the Federation for aid. The two governments meet at Khitomer, a Class-M planet near the Rihannsu/Klingon border, and hammer out the Khitomer Accords, enabling the Federation to aid the weakened Klingon Empire and making the two powers uneasy allies. With the exception of a one-year abrogation of the accords almost 100 years later, the alliance proves stable and prompts the development of a more diplomatically sophisticated Klingon Empire.

Rihannsu: 1942 Terran: 2311 AD: The Tomed Incident

________________________________________

As Federation technology advances, Rihannsu intelligence suspects that Starfleet is now capable of building cloaking devices into their exploratory vessels. The Federation denies these claims. Acting on reports from the Rihannsu Senate's intelligence directorate, theTal Shiar, a Rihannsu incursion fleet attacks Starbase 247 in the Tomed system. The battle results in thousands of Federation casualties. The Rihannsus retreat only after Federation ships decloak and join the conflict. Rihannsu diplomats threaten war after the UFP duplicity. Federation officials claim the cloaking technology was developed by Starfleet Intelligence without the Federation Council's knowledge or approval. The two species, committed to solving their differences, draft the Treaty of Algeron. The treaty specifically prohibits Federation use of cloaking technology. This satisfies the Rihannsu Senate, but negotiations after this point are irregular, and the Rihannsu Empire abandons its interests in the Alpha Quadrant.

Rihannsu: 1964 Terran: 2313 AD: The Taurhai Attack the Rihannsu Empire (Classified)

________________________________________

A previously unknown threat from the far side of the Rihannsu Empire reveals itself. The Taurhai, an aggressive, expansionist, technologically sophisticated race, employ artificially constructed subspace funnels to propel their ships. The Rihannsu Star Empire is weakened, losing battle after battle over the next 30 years.

Rihannsu: 1994 Terran: 2343 AD: Rihannsu Attack the Taurhai Homeworld (Classified)

________________________________________

Fighting a desperate, losing battle, the Rihannsu Senate changes its tactics. Mounting a suicide assault on the Taurhai homeworld of Chi'tai, the battered remnants of the Rihannsu fleet win for the day and defeat their opponents in one swift battle. With the Taurhai no longer a threat, the Senate prepares for renewed expansion.

Rihannsu: 1975 Terran: 2344 AD : Rihannsu Attack Narendra III

________________________________________

Filled with renewed vigor after the decisive battle of Chi'tai, the Rihannsu Senate turns its attention to the Klingon Empire, whose opportunistic border raids went unchecked during the lengthy Taurhai assault. The Senate resolves to wipe out the Klingon Empire once and for all. When Rihannsu warbirds attack the Klingon outpost at Narendra III, the Federation comes to the aid of its Klingon allies. The Enterprise-C is destroyed in the conflict, but the outpost is saved. This marks the beginning of a true alliance between the Federation and Klingons. The Rihannsus, unwilling to face the Federation head-on after the long Taurhai siege, withdraw.

Rihannsu: 1977 Terran: 2346 AD: Rihannsu Attack Khitomer

________________________________________

A renegade Klingon provides the Rihannsu Empire with codes permitting a Rihannsu fleet to assault Khitomer,

slaughtering 4,000 Klingons. Once again, the Federation comes to the aid of the Klingon Empire.

Rihannsu: 1998 Terran: 2367 AD: Borg incursion into Diodor sector on Rihannsu frontier

Rihannsu: 2002 Terran: 2371 AD: Treaty allows for Rihannsu Cloaking device on the USS Defiant

________________________________________

Klingons decide to attack Rihannsu outposts.

Rihannsu: 2005 Terran: 2374 AD: Rihannsu Star Empire –UFP – Klingon Empire Alliance/Dominion War

________________________________________

The Tal Shiar investigated and discovered a damaged Cardassian data rod containing what appeared to be a recording of a high-level Dominion plan to launch an invasion of the Star Empire. Praetor Neral then declared war upon the Dominion and formally allied the Rihannsu Star Empire with the United Federation of Planets and Klingon Empire for the first time in interstellar history. The Star Empire remained allied with the Federation and Klingons for the duration of the conflict.

Rihannsu: 2007 Terran: 2376 AD: End Dominion War

________________________________________

After the Allied victory in the Dominion War, Rihannsu forces occupied much of the former Cardassian Union in conjunction with the Federation and Klingons, and some Rihannsu ships were even stationed at Deep Space 9 in the months following the war for continued Alpha Quadrant protection.

Rihannsu: 2008 Terran: 2377 AD: Rihannsu colony attacked by Watraii

________________________________________

A Rihannsu colony was viciously destroyed by a mysterious power known as the Watraii, who claimed to be the original inhabitants of ch’Rihan. Possessing extremely advanced weaponry, the Watraii threatened to destroy ch’Rihan. Neral, recognizing that the Imperial Fleet was overextended, that the Federation and Klingon Empires were not going to intervene, and that the Star Empire could simply not afford another large-scale war, ordered the Fleet to the Rihannsu system, to concentrate defenses around ch’Rihan and ch’Havran, believing this to be their next target. A number of Rihannsu ships went rogue, however, joining a rogue fleet of civilian and Starfleet ships in an attempt to confront the Watraii.
