After dinner matters

They had finished eating their meal; it had been quite filling after the workout she had put in. Her shoulders and arms tired from the exertion of taking her anger out upon the heavy bag. Pouring them each a glass of the chilled wine, she hands him his glass, then retakes her seat next to him, leaning back against him, tucking her legs up under her a bit. She had filled him in during the meal about her visit na only to the hospital, but to the home of that infuriating veruul and miserable excuse of a mother to Laehval. He had told her he wasn’t too pleased with idea of her offering to grant that traitor a place in her family, or what in reality in the near future, what was soon to become ‘their’ family. She had argued again, that Laeh hadn’t been mutinying, she had just been reacting and trying to help get as many of them out of the situation as she could, but snapped a bit at the end of the ordeal due to some strongly abusive upbringing in with her family, and now had na where else to go. It had been their first disagreement on how to handle this whole situation, yet as she reminded him, he had said he would be hands off, and that she would be making the decisions concerning t’Temmar.

Sitting silently, they both just sat back listening to the sound of the crackling, popping wood, and watching the flames dance higher for some time. Time passed and as the blaze began to look as if it would need to be stirred up with the poker, she leaned forward, setting her glass upon the floor and gently worked herself free of his light hold around her shoulder.

Using the fireplace implements to rekindle the blaze, she set them aside and came back over to Var’lon. Grabbing the wine from the chiller, she refilled his cup and her own before replacing it on the shelf, and retaking her seat beside him. “So au had mentioned that au had someone that au could trust, that au were thinking of bringing onto the Talon to assist N’Dak while I am off the ship. I wish to at least meet this person, before I turn my ship over to them.”

Var’lon looked over to her, “Tomorrow, I can arrange for us all to meet tomorrow.” With that, the two of them sat there, each with their own thoughts watching the fire, and just leaning into one another.
