Crash Calestorm

Sight to Site

The operative waited quietly, the clothing they wore further blending into the landscape. Lying prone and employing a stretch of elevated scrub trees and boulders set a few kilometers to the west of the main Xanar colony outpost, the agent was well hidden.

Using the local natural flora as cover was all well and good, but a personal signal scrambler device was also at full output; it wouldn’t do for the Hard Six sensors to record any sort of ‘anomaly’ that didn’t match the set numbers of the supposedly deployed personnel…not that mercs kept minute by minute tracking of their people.

A high powered binocular scope snapped on with a ping of power, illuminating the distant colony in crisp and sharp tones. In turn, both colonists and mercenaries became fixated in the lense as the scope moved from target to target, probing the area thoroughly.

There had been rumors of sedition, rumors that the Xanar assignment would and could be compromised.

The operative had been dispatched in order to maintain an oversight position, to watch certain personnel that had been flagged as persons of interest. Action would depend on the individuals in question.

The scope lingered on the commander of the SS Hard Six, who had already made touchdown on the planet as per her usual MO and was overseeing to the general lockdown of the mission the mercenary crew had been contracted to undertake.

One way to ensure the mission failed was to take out the captain.

The operative thumbed the stock of the high powered phaser rifle and waited for an opportunity to present itself.
