OK, I'm posting this because I saw a TV Guide cover today that said Stargate SG-1 is better than Star Trek.  I myself can only remember seeing part of one SG-1 episode, and it wasn't bad, but it was nothing like the original Stargate movie (which, if I remember, flopped at the box office).

Yeah, I know, Star Trek will probably win among a group of Star Trek simmers, but what the hell?  Personally I like Battlestar Galactica the best.

Don't see your favorite series listed?  Fine, next time you make the poll!

Well, this may seem like treason coming from the Admiral of the group, but I truly love Babylon-5.  This was a series that did not assume that the audience are all idiots.  The long arc stories and sly internal references would reward people who were regular viewers.  Hey, what can you say about a series where the Security Chief had a painting of Daffy Duck in his quarters, and they found acting jobs for Will Robinson, Chekov and Flounder!

Hey there,

Actually, my second to Star Trek would have to be a series not mentioned and murdered by FOX....

Space: Above And Beyond

Some of the best writing and an interesting take on special effects.

Ah, I think I'll have to join the Admiral in his treason -- I am wholeheartedly a B5 fan.  What can I say, I'm a sucker for depth and (gasp!) continuity!

Yo dude you forgot Star Wars man,  OK so it isn't a TV show.. but man.. they're such great movies.. and have alot more action that any of the others listed here.. (ok, maybe not Eps. I and II, but still, gotta love the original series).  :D  anyways, gotta pick Star Trek in this poll though.  :P

There is no continuity errors in star trek they worked very hard to make the things fit in and yes it does require imagination but I get it but then again I am a genuis. What idiot would think Star Gate SG-1 is better then Star Trek they have graphics comparable to TOS and although it has some good philiosphy no where's as deep and complex as star trek.

I never got to watch B5.. yet I have the feeling I would have been hooked.

I have always loved Trek in its many guises. SG:1 was great for about 3seasons, then it went off the deep end. Battlestar Gallactica was a great show for its time, and I loved it then, and I still catch the occassional rerun. What about Buck Rogers? Corny but good. Red Dwarf was great, and I have had the DVDs on my wish list for awhile.

But my real fave was DR. Who. Some incarnations were better than others, but they had great villans, fun storylines, and kooky special effects that they never apologized for.

Very tough poll,

I felt I was boxed in voting for Trek.  I wanted to vote for Babylon 5..which had the most arse kicking XO in the galaxy (Ivanova); Incredbile Storyline Arcs...(Shadow War/Telepaths); and unbelievable tenacity...I mean the series somehow managed 5 years on two different networks!

Precip

A9 is Bester? Ah....crap.

Yeah! Some other people know Babylon 5 was a good series. I agree with A-9. The series was truly rewarding if you watched it, (although i never really understood the whole point behind the 'planet machine) If only thje Minbari could be in the Trek Universe....

Lovely, writing off a show on one episode.  I hated "The Price" and "The Royale", just to name two (or three -- can we say "Enterprise premire"?), but I still like Trek.   :P

I'd say if you see it the first time and hate it, don't watch it again. Exception: Star Trek.

whatever.

Hey there,

Actually, it's true. Star Trek: The Next Generation didn't really get it's foundation set until their third season. Let's not forget the wonderful uniforms of season one....you know...the men walking around in skirts? :P
