Sneezing and Congestion

Jed got up from the biobed he was lying on , well half lying on , just like any other kind of bed his feet were always sticking out . Centuries of advance technology and they had yet to designed accommodations for taller than average people.

 

Lieutenant Baliss had informed him that he was suffering from some kind of allergic reaction , maybe from the cows or from some unidentified allergen from the Proxima Minor colony. Nothing to worry about he was told as he accepted the antihistamine injection . Occasional sneezing and a bit of congestion was not enough to keep him away from his newly acquired responsibilities . In the eventuality that he felt a bit too weak to go tinker and crawl around the ship , he had glimpsed at the mountain of paperwork waiting for him on his desk , he would not be sitting idle anytime soon .

 

Scarlett smiled at the doctor , taking his leave from sickbay . He was a bit disappointed not to have had the opportunity to meet the CMO , she had been described to him as a very capable and efficient woman , which he considered very good asset to anyone he was willing to trust his life to .

 

Entering the Turbo lift and directing it to Main Engineering , Jed thought that he would certainly meet her at the next senior officer meeting . He knew that some people in starfleet were still clutching to old preconceived ideas about Vulcans , but he wasn't one of them . Given he would ask one out for a beer on shoreleave , but he valued them as colleagues . He always found them to be excellent officers , especially in engineering and medical fields . Their analytic minds made them very well suited for high pressure situation .

 

Jed eyes clouded for a moment , thinking about the destruction of their homeworld and to all the damage caused by Nero . He forced himself to stop thinking about Hirini and put a smile back on his face before entering main engineering and officially greet the members of his staff .
