---BIOGRAPHY---

Born to Arrenhe i-Ra'tleihfi T'Kota and John Lucas Ramirez, Alexander James was destined to stand out in a crowd. His mother, Science Officer T'Kota of the IRW Haakona, was secretly part of a clandestine group of Romulans looking to rejoin with the Vulcans. She embraced both the emotions of her people and the logical-mindedness of the Vulcans, and found an equilibrium in their teachings. Spending time with his mother cultivated his emotional stability and vigor.

His father, on the other hand, gave a gentle and guiding hand to his son. As he grew up, there would be days where he would be picked on unyieldingly, but every time he would go home, his father would pick him up and help him through it, explaining the issues society has with Romulans, or in this case, being part Romulan. While spending time with his dad, eventually he was offered a chance of a lifetime, the ability to apply for Starfleet Academy, though the odds were stacked against him due to his split heritage.

Showing an incredible aptitude to Engineering in his younger years, and with much political maneuvering by his father and some of his contacts, he was allowed permission to join the Academy, albeit with some trepidation on the school's behalf. Thrilled he made it in, though, he set to make a name for himself. His days at the academy were not without issues during his stay . He would be beaten up in the corridors and people would turn a blind eye on their behalf, and multiple times he would be found to be at fault for other's mistakes.

Specifically the worst day he can recount during the academy was when three cadets, James Kelly, Nate Raul, and Paul Wait, cornered him in the engineering lab. They caught up to him one evening when Alexander was working late in the lab, working on a project for his class for the following evening. Noticing his mind elsewhere and his back turned, they kicked his knees out from under him, and stuffed him into a bag. They brought him outside, not being noticed because the campus lights were dimmed due to it being the night-cycle on campus. Carrying him into a groundskeeping shed, they beat him senseless and left him there, assuming he never saw their faces. James said to him, "Well Rommy, you may be smart, but you're still just as weak as any other green-blooded bastard. You should resign and go home to your daddy, you don't belong here." They laughed and left the shed, leaving him there in a puddle of his own copper blood, fading into unconsciousness.

He was later found that next morning by Boothby, considering it was his shed they dragged him into. After some medical attention given by the academy medical facilities, he went back to class, and heard that same voice which chided him the night before, and saw a group of guys talking in the engineering lab. Recognizing that it was that same voice from last night, he was able to report the incident and James was suspended for his participation in the attack, and both Nate and Paul were given up in exchange for a lesser sentence. Alex still has a couple scars from his ordeal, but for the most part they were all healed over by the next day.

His grades didn't suffer, as he graduated near the top of his class. He would have probably made valedictorian of his class if it wasn't for a fellow fourth-year sabotaging his work on a project that he had made his final project for quantum engineering. He was able to salvage his project and pass decently after some improvisational work, but it wasn't close to being what he could have done.
