Ne'Arrain R'Tor Bat'ok Log

Back to engineering.  I must admit it was peaceful in there for a while with very few crew members around the area, but I knew with the excitement of the last few days that the nice peaceful mood I had assumed for that brief while wouldn't last long.  Before I knew it I had orders to translate some klingon files.  Now that assignment would have been easy and somewhat relaxing and easy.  I must remember where we are and that anything could go wrong.  To set the programs up to translate was easy but just as the ISD had reached engineering we were thrown around from some sort of blast to the ship.  I should have known that even on the ship I was still a target for the Klingons.  I was hoping they had fed their trigger happiness on the planet when they had attempted,::grins smugly::unsuccessfully I might add.  But that darn tree::growls::Anyway I am off topic again.  Well that little pitiful attempt at a threatening blow didn't damage the ship that much, and we did eventually get the files downloaded and the translation started.

The translation programs I had put together really did a decent job.  I am surprised though that they weren't updated or a little bit more........ hmmm what would be a good description.....thoroughly built to translate the files a little more fully.  The program had not been able to translate three symbols.  Now, when a ship is at the front lines like this I would have  EXPECTED ::a little ticked::that the ship would have been given a complete overhaul of the system files dealing with the enemy and all of the new intelligence data gathered to be sent to us for our use.  However I see that this is not the case here.  Well I guess that means we will have to work around it.

Luckily we just happen to have a new erein that seeeeeems able to speak Klingon.  The timing of his arrival seems to be::slight pause::convenient for the translation of the files.  Almost too convenient for my liking, he did come aboard after we got a hold of the files.

The translated logs were sent to the bridge, well at least the logs after being ran through the programs.  I was then to go through the scanning data and star charts to determine the last area of where the ship was located.  At least our star charts are updated.  Voric was able to get a star match on our charts and had determined a flight path.  The scan data was somewhat more interesting.  It has some interesting readings of the area it was scanning.  I hope my report will be ready for t'Temarr soon however I still have data to go through before I get it finished.  Maybe after I finish working with this klingon translation files I can start doing simple ideas to algorithms for my HIC program.::some object hits a hard surface::Well for now I think I will take a break from these data ISD's.
