Too Much Time

As a cadet looking toward a future I have been perusing the other advanced SIMs here as of late. I do find their back-stories very interesting and hope that I can find a 'fit' for my unique personality. The one topic that bubbles to the top is a fact that was only casually addressed in RED STAR LOUNGE convos. It is that of time... Era's depicted with each Advanced SIM. This, in it self, makes choices of my direction even more intriguing...as I am certain it does for others. It would be my belief that some may find the directions taken here could be placed on a believeability scale however, for the most part, what I have found are some very detailed and exacting future-histories. Each present their own special promise of excitement.

Indeed, Mr. Rosetto. Sky Harbor Aegis has an extensive real-time history (in its 15th year) and its own exact simulation time line. This not only enables us to keep our history straight, it gives us a sense of the passage of time in sim.

 

For instance, though one plot may take several months of real time (8 to 10 sims), only a few days of simulation time may have passed. It could be confusing for players (and GMs) without keeping the simulation date in in mind.

 

Our date as of sim begin this evening is 25 July 2386. Aegis moved from the Cardassian system to its present location in December of 2384, which makes the passage of time in the last real-time year about 19 months.

Most of STSF's sims, moved here from AOL, and have a long time history, most began over 15 years ago. I know that Republic was started in 1991, before the start of AOL on a college computer server. The individual command teams can tell you their histories.

Manticore, Republic, Hood, Arcadia, Reaent, Talon, Excalibur, Sky Harbor Aegis and Qob all moved here when we started the forum.

 

Some, are homegrown.

Challenger, Agincourt, Commanche Creek and the Red Star Lounge began in STSF.
