Another New Recruit

Hello everyone. My name is Anthony Jameson. I guess I should start with saying that I am a fan of star trek and started watching when ST: TNG was syndicated. Because I am used to all the stuff from after the TOS I just don't watch it. That and I have problems with watching stuff that looks like it was made in Technicolor. Right now I am high on Voyager, Enterprise, and The Next Generation.

Now in terms of simming. I have about 3 years experience in RL and IC. I have done some acting in college and of course Star Trek simming online. Recently I signed up with UCIP and have been there for about 4 months. Before that I was Theta Fleet for about 6 months. Even further back I have done several misc. Star Trek and Star Wars sims.

I'm still alittle confused on how everything works here, but I have a feeling it will all grow on me.

I learned about you guys from Matthew. He was a cadet at the academy a while back. We were talking and he interested me.

Well nice talking to all of you and looking forward to my first sim. <_<

Signed,

Anthony Jameson

::clears throat::

Welcome!

Two things to remember: 1) Any Academy hosted by STSF N'Dak is a guaranteed suicide mission [And that's a direct quote from his signature]. 2) Never compare the GMs to Captains Bligh or Queeg if you want to get graduate sometime before the turn of the century.

That being said, I'd recommend reading: How to sim, as well as: Tips from the Moose

For all your technobabble needs, visit Memory Alpha or Ex Astris Scientia.

Academy times are listed ET, so adjust as appropriate for your timezone. Academies are mandatory, and everyone is human. Save your character development for your Advanced Ship. Minimum graduation time is 3 Academies, but don't expect to graduate that quickly; the host teams prefer to see how are over a longer span of time. And once you are posted to your first Advanced Sim, it's strongly recommended that any ideas that go outside Trek canon be approved by your host team.

Welcome to STSF, Anthony. It seems you have quite a bit of experience that should make your transition to our way of doing things fairly easy. See you in the academy!
