USS Republic Summary

The crew of the USS Republic continue surveying the planet below and the decaying cities on it. Continuous scans shed little light on whats going on on the planet. Broadcast channels remain quiet.

 

Engineering is still working on retrieving data from the second satellite brought aboard. So far what has been extracted from it has been sent to the bridge for analysis and possible translation. Kania and Ayumu continue working on decoding information. Johnson, Jax and Bardohlf were able to get the second satellite broadcasting. They then hooked the images to the bridge as well. It began blurry but Johnson was able to clear the picture which revealed many corpses in the streets, of varying levels of decay. It would appear that whatever happened left a lt of death behind. But what was the cause.

 

Captain Rian Kwai ordered Ayumu and Kania to prepare a probe to go to the surface and analyze the surrounding foliage, air and collect samples if possible. They hoped to get enough information to declare if it is safe enough for the crew to go down and investigate the area the way they knew how the best. First hand. The probe is just about ready to go.
