“How To Pass Temporal Mechanics”

 

Garnoopy sat quietly at his desk staring at the Klingon style computer screen. His mind was racing with the entire lifetime he had just absorbed from the other timeline. The other Garnoopy’s entire history was in his mind, graduation, promotion, posting, and everything else.

 

He thought over the entire incident and his role. How was it possible that he had explained to the entire crew what was going on with the temporal incident? Garnoopy had failed Level 1 of temporal mechanics at the Academy. It had nearly held him back a year.

 

The answer provided itself instantly. In Timeline A, this one Garnoopy had failed temporal mechanics, but in Timeline B, the other Garnoopy had passed them with flying colors. Now that the Timeline A Garnoopy had all of the Timeline B’s memories he had the knowledge of someone who had passed Level 3 of the temporal mechanics department. Garnoopy sincerely wished he had known that all he had to do was travel to another timeline to pass that class.

 

Everything else that had happened in the other timeline was fresh in his memory. He had shot Ramjep. It was in self defense so Garnoopy wasn’t worried about getting a report and he had fixed her. He had also attempted to shoot Bch though the phaser hadn’t worked, bloody thing. It wasn’t in self defense of himself that he had done so but it was in defense of Kwalas. Garnoopy remembered the readings on the medical scanner of Kwalas just before they were returned to Timeline A, she had been badly beaten and he doubted she would have survived after what Bch had done to her. If the phaser had worked he might have been able to prevent it.

 

He shook his head and cleared his thoughts. Ramjep and Kwalas were fine in this timeline although Ramjep was planning on coming down and attempting to take him out. He sighed and realized he’d have to find a way to get out of this one. Garnoopy really didn’t want to have to shoot her again, even in self defense.

 

Garnoopy stretched and stood. He would fill out his report later for it was gonna be one dozy of a report with all the information he had to put into it. For not it was time to wake Bch and de-strap her from the biobed. She would be fine according to his medical scans.

 

He chuckled and thought again about the new temporal knowledge he had gained. Stepping out of his office he wished it was this easy to gain knowledge for everything.
