O hai

Hello, world. :3 I'm a newbie here on STSF. You can call me Cass, as per my character name.

I'm still a bit of a Star Trek baby, though. The newest movie got me hooked, and I'm currently watching through the original series. Because of my lack of knowledge, I'll sit out on simming for a while, just so I'm not all 'lolwut?' in the Academy. I look forward to jumping in full time, though. I've never quite done anything like this before. :D

::clears throat::

Welcome!

Two things to remember: 1) Any Academy hosted by STSF N'Dak is a guaranteed suicide mission [And that's a direct quote from his signature]. 2) Never compare the GMs to Captains Bligh or Queeg if you want to get graduate sometime before the turn of the century.

That being said, I'd recommend reading: How to sim, as well as: Tips from the Moose

For all your technobabble needs, visit Memory Alpha or Ex Astris Scientia.

Academy times are listed ET (Eastern Time), so adjust as appropriate for your timezone. Academies are mandatory, and everyone is human. Save your character development for your Advanced Ship. Minimum graduation time is 3 Academies, but don't expect to graduate that quickly; the host teams prefer to see how are over a longer span of time. And once you are posted to your first Advanced Sim, it's strongly recommended that any ideas that go outside Trek canon be approved by your host team.

Academy Schedule:

-Sundays:3pm

-Mondays, Wednesdays: 10pm

-Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 9pm

-Saturday: 1159pm (Sunday Morning at midnight)

Welcome to STSF! - I know how you feel about being a "Star Trek, Baby" My father always liked Star Trek so I would see it time and again but I didnt really get into it until the new movie! Now Ive see all of TOS twice, every movie (1-6 twice). I have watched some of TNG, VOY, and ENT. But to be honest I think TOS is my favorite. Nobody beats Spock, Kirk, and McCoy!

Feel free to come to the simms (Im still learning myself would be nice to not be the only one not knowing what to do) ::smiles::

well hope you enjoy it here I have so far.

see you in space!

Hey Cass,

welcome to STSF. You know, if I were you I wouldn't worry too much about Trek knowledge. I mean, it helps to know the basics, but it's not necessary to know how the warp drive works or ever single alien race there ever was. If in doubt there's always memory Alpha and the like. The secret is called technobabble; if in doubt always make it look like you know what you're talking about.

You know, our Academies are there to learn, maybe you want to drop by one of those and give it a try. I remember when I first started I also thought that I didn't know enough. But I found that I was getting along just fine.

Enjoy your time on STSF.

Porter

If you're watching TOS, I'd recomend Fancast, they've lots of streaming episodes online and last time I checked they're only missing the episode "Operation: Annihilate!" Welcome, we're a fun, rowdy lot, you'll have lots of fun or your tribbles back.

I was steered towards www.CBS.com/video/. Look under "TV Classics".
