Sometimes you have to look around for the hidden camera and microphone, eh?   Could you getting "a little ticked at GM's" hurt your chances for graduation?  Is that the question??

::ahem::

Well, let me put it this way. The GMs are looking for someone who understands how to sim and gets along with others on the crew.  This assumes a certain maturity and getting ticked off at ANYONE in the room can definitely hurt your chances, yes.

Another thing it took me ten to graduate man don't worry It'll come. By the way another thing is that they look for poeple who just are enjoying the sim, knowing that their creativity will be seen and could get them promoted that night, man I sound like a GM, moving on. The night I graduated I was late for the first sim, late, but I joined right in and helped my CSEC and I come up with something to do in the sim. In the second sim that night I graduated. So you see the GM's enjoy creativity and as atragon said working well with others, so don't worry you will graduate soon. :) :)

I think I realy have to make it obvious.  Your most likely not going to graduate on your 3rd sim like people used to do.  Theres too many people in the academies and too many people to consider.

Come to the same academy over and over.  It doesnt hurt to go to others, but you should have at least one steady one where the GM's know you, darting to a different one every week doesnt help any.

And dont complain.  If some one graduates instead of you, clap nicely and congratulate them, or if no one graduates, don't start asking why not.  It realy annoys not only the GM's but fellow simmers as well if cadets start throwing hissy fits after every sim.

Another thing you should do is always be doing somthing. Dont be afraid to create NPC (no playable characters.) For example, if you are the cheifmedical officer, have some person who was on the holo deck without the safties on come in with some werid injury. For security, create a security team, and do training drills.

Also, make sugestions to your seperior officer. Aeng, sugest stuff to the CENG. CENG, make suggestions to the captain. And if you are on one part of the ship, dont comment to somthing you read on another part of the ship.

Dont use caps. I don't like people shouting at me.

The other suggestions are really good. Keep your dept involved, whether you are creating things for your assistants, or if you are an asst, suggesting things to your dept head, or getting the other assts to help you do something. I have seen great academy sims where Eng was never involved, but the dept memebers had a great time keeping each other busy cleaning JTs or warp whatchamacallits. I have also seen terrible academies where a dept that was supposed to be involved in the storyline got sidetracked doing something non related and people died because of it. One recently, medical had 3 people in the dept, and they were so busy playing with each other, they missed 4 comms to come to the bridge for a dying capt.

Keeping busy by creating blobs (told ya I would get you back Garnoopy!) or running through the ship screaming are not good things.

Paying attention and being creative within your dept are.

Just the pointers from me. :)

Let me take this further.  The three sims is a MINIMUM and always has been.  There was never a time when people were regularly graduating on their third.  Thanks.

Right A9 my mistake, I just take it from the fact that I did graduate on my third, hence forth I dont want to say it isnt possibe, just very unlikely that you will.

One pointer from Grom...

  Don't cuss the GM out.  This generally hurts graduation candidates.   :)

I enjoy being cussed out.  I like the attention.  I feel a comraderie.  Oh wait, that's by GMs, not cadets... :)

Here's another tip:  Show pride in your typing ability.  Even if it's lousy, if you try to improve it regularly, it will indeed get better.  For example, start sentences with a capital letter and end them with a period.  Sounds dumb?  It really helps communication and shows a level of competance.  And hey, it will help with other things besides simming.  :)
