Questions

Strapped to the tank’s seat next to Mench, bouncing around every time to tank passed over an uneven rock formation in the canyon, Xandra was quietly listening to the discussion between Sargh and the Commander. Sargh’s ideas about the mysterious Bird of Prey reminded her of the comment she made a while back. What if the other Klingon ship was also hired by Mench’s contact as a back up plan in case they failed their mission ? A contingency plan to insure the success of the plan , that had been her first thought. But the more she listened the more Sargh made sense, she inwardly made a disgusted face at the fact that she was agreeing with the Klingon . Anybody reading reports of the incidents would automatically assume that the QoB was responsible. They were already on Starfleet watchlist, after the starbase incident they probably won themselves the top spot on their most wanted list, courtesy of the elusive Klingon ship.

Xandra tuned out the conversation as dozens of questions popped in her head at once. How did they know where the QoB would be each time? Were they somehow tracking them? Detecting them through the cloak? Was there someone on board feeding them information? Who were they? Why were they following them? Why were they trying to get the QoB’s crew blamed for attacks on Starfleet installations? Were they another rogue Klingon ship? If not who hired them? Mench’s contact? The Klingon Empire? Someone else?

A more pressing question formed in Xandra’s mind as she held on to her seat as the tank started a vertical climb. How long before the mysterious Bird of Prey made its next appearance?
