While en route to Starbase 375, the USS Algonquin (Akira Class) encountered a subspace distortion through which the Federation Science Ship USS Discovery emerged. At that instant, the USS Algonquin shifted time lines and became a ship of war, fully rigged for battle with the Romulan Star Empire.

 

The USS Discovery is badly damaged, their life support is failing. The USS Algonquin altered course and is presently alongside the USS Discovery to give them aid.

 

The Algonquin crew does not recognize the time change; the existence of the war is the only reality they know.
