High School = 4 worst years of my life, and I'm not joking. My advice to you is ignore them. If they really are your friends, they won't care how you spend your free time. If they're not, well, forget em.

Man, I must have been listening when my parents told me that. :)

Hey there,

Well, I would think you probably know the basics of the game. Even if you don't, run out there with them and try. Half the time, those that do know the rules, rarely ever play by them. Here's the entire point of the game...do whatever you can to get the ball and get it into your endzone (end of the field).

I like the way George Carlin said it.

In football you're on the gridiron, deep in enemy territory, the warning has sounded, and you have to throw a long bomb before the blitz.

In baseball you run home.

Look into the game, pull a patient friend aside and have them help you when there isn't a pick up game going. Watching football is also a good way to learn by example. Practice.

As for the friends... what you do online at home is your business. You'll have to decide what to do on that one. You could say something (I didn't, I eventually got caught... no one cared other than some teasing which it was easy to return the favor. :) LOL) or not say it, and just try to get out as much as possible. I loved high school, wish I could go back in time. There will always be time to sim, just don't let it stop you from real life. If you really want to learn how to play football, then put the effort into it. :)

Voric, first off...enjoy high school. When you get older, you'll remember it as one of the best times of you life. I'd love to go back and do it all over again. Well, maybe college too, without the exams...it was a good time to remember too.

Second, work out a balance to your gaming and social life.  For example, I played in a couple AD&D and Trek games while in high school, while also being able to earn 8 varsity letters (3-hockey, 2-winter track, 3-spring track), so it's possible to do both. I'd suggest getting a dayplanner, and schedule out time for each activity you are involved with, and stick to those times. And, yes, I was a nerd too, participating in choir and FFA also, but the key is to excel at what you do. Practice, and maintain focus on what you're doing or trying to learn or become better at. Eventually, you'll gain enough knowledge of the subject, that will allow you to participate at some level of interaction.

(As a last resort, learn football and tackle them into submission....and legally part of the game ::eg::)

Third, don't bother with what other people say.  Face it, in the grand scheme of things, do they really matter? How long will you actually see these people once you get on with your life? Half the time, they're the people you end up laughing at 25 years from now at your high school reunion.

Fourth, if you are interested in a sport, hey, it's just like simming. You have to jump in, and give it a try. Without practice, you'll  never get better. Go to the library and take out books, tapes, hey...try the internet. When all else fails....

ask your mom and dad. Honestly, and being one....I can tell you, parents LOVE when you come to them asking to help them with this sort of thing.

Lastly, we sim at night, why are you trying to play football in the dark silly !! LOL

Good luck, and don't worry about other people.

(That reminds me, my fall athlete of the year trophy needs to be dusted......Like I said, you can sim and play, and don't let people tell  you that you can't. ::limps across room from too many hockey injuries...LOL)

Use this time as you feel it's used best. I didn't sim in HS because I went right from school to work. You have the free time. Like Blu said perhaps set up a schedule. With my friends they tease, and I tease back. Your real friends stick by you no matter how crazy, popular, nerdy, etc... you are. Those are the people who you'll probably stay friends with after HS. They're also the people to ask for help playing the game. Just like simming with departments, in football some positions will fit you better. Try out different ones and go for the positions you like the best. :)

Well, maybe college too, without the exams...it was a good time to remember too.

Good things about college:  Lots of opportunities to get involved (clubs, honor societies, fraternities of all kinds not just social, leadership positions), parties, and a generally more intellectual environment than society at large (unless you're a Sociology, Nursing, or Education major).

Bad things about college:  Being poor, not enough time (especially if you work), lack of parking, anything involving the campus bookstore (No Amazon.com back then) and having to pay good money for bull**** General Education classes just to justify keeping the tenured instructors on the payroll.  Hell, I don't even use half the classes in my major!

I was going to tie this into simming, but I forget how.

Ok now you have made me think and I think that I should not be in football I rather stay in sports that there arent about 100 other guys in the locker room calling me sexy and other thing I will haft to stick to track and field and maybe  basketball because are team stinks and for BluRox I haft to improve my grammer skills before Blu flips out. And whoever said beeing in F.F.A. makes you a nerd IS WRONG!!!!!!!!!! it gets you out of school and away from the retard teachers that yell at you and give you the answers.

Well see you all soon  :)

The important thing about any school, HS or college is to have fun doing what you want, while being able to balance school and social life (whether real or simming)  FFA is great if that is what you like

::proudly states:: my sister was in top 15 for natl creed speaking and is presently waiting for an answer on whether or not she recieves her gold star award.  As for me FFA isn't me...

What ever you chose though (be it to do or not to do something) make sure or chose is something you won't regret in the long run!!!

:D  And that dear ppl is the secret to life...living life without regrets   :)
