Only so far

“Only so far”…Kroells’s logs (Log 42)

“Fine!  You don’t want me to care!?  Then I won’t!”  Those were the words he left her with, that’s how it ended.  Kansas standing inside of the turbo lift, and Travis in the hallows of the corridor beyond.  To him that was how it ended, he could not repair the damage that had been done.  He made one last attempt to make it work, to tell her how he felt, and it failed miserably.

He watched the turbo lift doors closed, headed to parts unknown, to parts he didn’t care or want to know anymore.  He sighed and turned around, heading back to his quarters for some much needed solitude.

The doors whooshed open and he immediately ripped off the bandages surrounding his shoulder.  He didn’t know why he put it on, he obviously didn’t need it.  He walked over to the table in the kitchen, and slowly picked up the coffee mug that rested there.  He looked at it, tossed it in the air for a second, and then threw it across the room, causing it to land of the small coffee table placed in the room, effectively shattering the glass top of the small table.

O’Connor hissed in fear as Travis then over turned the kitchen table, which doubled as his work desk, sending padds and various other experiments and equipment of that sort flying all over.

Travis sighed; he felt a little better, enough at least to say that he could go out and around the ship with out attacking random crew members.  He picked O’Connor up and left his quarters heading towards the only thing that could allow him to properly vent his anger, the holodeck.

The turbo lift ride was short and with out incident, for which Travis was thankful.  He had had enough drama, for one day, one mission, hell even the rest of his life.  Right now all he wanted to do was go to the holodeck, let O’Connor run around the pasture chasing holographic mice while Travis rested under his favorite tree.  He felt better about the situation before he even got to the holodeck doors, He had only let it go so far, and he had controlled him self and walked away from it, something he had not been able to do for a long time.  He chuckled as he walked up to the control panel, “Yea, rock bottom isn’t too far down…”
