Born and raised on a small cargo vessel of the merchant fleet , in her early teenage years, Xandra came to the conclusion that joining Starfleet was the fastest and safest way to assure that she would not end up spending her life on a cargo vessel like her parents.

 

She applied at starfleet academy at the age of 17. Her original application was denied as a result of the psychological evaluation . Not taking no for an answer , she found a way around , by applying to a civilian medical school ,and transfering into Starfleet after the obtention of her degree . Intense mental and physical training were the only reason she finally got accepted 5 years after her original application .

 

Due to a classified formal reprimand in her file, she ended up posted on a small science vessel as an assitant medical officer, with no real hope of a transfer or a promotion .

 

She joined the crew of the Qob after the boarding of the ship she was assigned to. Originally kidnapped and forced to work on the Klingon ship , Xandra eventually found the renegade lifestyle appealing as it did suit her hot tempered, conniving and greedy nature.
