USS Comanche Creek NCC-214

51 posts in this topic

As stated in the From the GM's, the Star Trek Simulation Forum is pleased to announce that STSF will be boasting a brand new sim: the USS Comanche Creek NCC-214. The sim will follow the adventures of a border patrol boat tasked with a variety of defensive, exploration, aid, covert, and colonization missions in the name of the Federation Starfleet.

- The ship and crew are under the command of Capt. Ashton 'Crash' Calestorm and Cmdr. Audraya 'Scooter' Wesley.

- Our time period is the New Original Series timeline introduced in the May 2009 Trek movie. The year is 2258.

- The USS Comanche Creek is a Kelvin Frigate Class ship, an updated ship design based on the USS Kelvin and outfitted with the latest sensor, weapons, and computer technology for the 2258 time period.

- We are the lead line ship for a new endeavor launched by Starfleet Command in the wake of the attacks by the renegade Romulan Nero: the First Threat Response Program (FTR).

- Some of the available crew positions are as follows: Communications, Helm, Navigation, Pilot/Electronic Countermeasures Officers, Engineering Officers, Security Officers, Medical Officers, and Science Officers.

Keep an eye on the boards for additional upcoming announcements regarding the first flight of the USS Comanche Creek.

Feel free to post any questions about the new sim to myself or Commander Scooter here in this thread.

~ Captain Ashton Calestorm

What day are you thinking about running this?

Sounds interesting. I just hope 90% of the remaining Vulcan population doesn't end up on the ship. The lone Vulcan character idea would be cool in that setting... but no so much if everyone gets that same idea.

I think we're wondering more about the day and time the sim will be running at. At least I know I am. :P

Now this is a perfect lead in.

Per our Primer, we plan on accepting the following race characters: Humans, Vulcans, Caitians, Kzinti, Edoans, Orions, Centaurans, Tellarites, Andorians, Denobulans.

Not necessarily the final word in character creation, but a general guideline for the New TOS world, until we get more of an indication about what races are out and about within the new film era.

I'd prefer not to have about forty Vulcans running about the ship, but the command staff wouldn't stop anyone from playing a Vulcan character and such.

That's a given that we'll have at least one running around, Jami.

Sounds like the start to an intervention meeting, Captain. Is there anything I should be concerned about?

The Shuttle pilots would probably be under the Pilot and Electronic Countermeasures (Pilot/ECOM) Officer roster spots/department umbrella that was mentioned in the start post.

However, the one Medical officer (blue tunic) piloted Winona Kirk out of harms way on the medical shuttle from the Kelvin (film beginning), so I assume most dept officers are cross trained to be able to pilot a Shuttle since they are a vital auxiliary craft to any ship.

I would've been open to developing an Andorian to keep things a bit more rounded.

Alas: 9:00 pm Eastern means 8:00 central, and my son is still quite awake at that time. :P

A shame really ... I think I look good as an Orion ( my pathetic photoshop abilities notwithstanding ) ...

Andorians aside, an Orion character would have been fun. ::points to the ships XO::

And, whoever else does choose to RP as an Orion among the Comanche crew? Yeah, I'm pretty sure Kirk won't be hiding under your bed ... if he is, have Security take care of him. :P

I'll think about it: depending on how much sleep he needs, maybe I can let him stay up later. :P

Meet the Field Command Team and the Admiral in Charge.

Think you'd like to hop on board the Comanche and serve alongside these lovely ladies as they dive head first into some adventure out along the Federation frontier to protect the galactic community?

Rear Admiral Shauna Walking Coyote

Human Female and Admiral Liaison in charge of the First Threat Response Program and line ship the USS Comanche Creek. At 58 standard years of age, Walking Coyote is a veteran of the pilot and navigator ranks, and came up through the senior command track ranks quickly. For two years, she worked on special projects for Starfleet Intelligence before mustering back into the mainstream service. The FTR Program is the culmination of several years of hard work for the Admiral, and the USS Comanche Creek is named in honor of the Comanche Creek colony; the colony was attacked by raiders some years ago, and Coyote lost several family members during the skirmish. As a result of the Comanche Colony legacy, Coyote has a vested interest in making sure the FTR program does what it is supposed to do: protect the galactic community from outside threats. She is a highly formidable and career oriented officer, and some would call her ruthless, while others refer to her as professionally driven.

Captain Ashton Calestorm

Human Female and Commanding Officer of the USS Comanche Creek. At 54 standard years of age, Calestorm is a career military and quarterdeck breed captain all the way and is most at home patrolling out along the galactic frontier. She has put in service time both in the cockpit, with ships and outposts and star bases, and wherever she was required or asked to do her part as a Starfleet officer. Though now suffering from a bum knee as the result of a shrapnel injury some years back, Calestorm can still take care of herself and should not be underestimated; she is of the “get the job done” mindset and while not a ruthless individual, she can have a single minded and stubborn quality that is difficult to penetrate especially if you get her hackles up.

Commander Audraya Wesley:

Orion Female and Executive Officer of the USS Comanche Creek. At 36 standard years of age, Commander Wesley has seen both the worst and the best that life has to offer. A survivor of the Orion slave market, Audraya enrolled in the Fleet Academy and her surname was taken to honor her academy sponsor, then LCDR Robert Wesley. Audraya went on to serve in a variety of postings, and put her time in with star fighter patrols and assignments out along the Outer Rim. She is content to let officers do their jobs, only stepping in when her direction or guidance is needed. She thinks on her feet and has at times let her fists do the talking. Commander Wesley is also one of the couple hundred survivors of the Battle of Vulcan; sponsor Commodore Robert Wesley was lost at the Vulcan skirmish.

Star Trek with no Vulcans is like peanut butter without jelly.

Vulcans are welcome within the Comanche sim storyline, but the planet of Vulcan will remain ka-boomed.
