Sema'J finds that the psionic amplifier in the cargo bay is covered in nanites. The cargo bay is evacuated, and the cargo bay only irradiated.

 

Black is strongly affected by the dust, and is taken to sickbay.

 

A radiation frequency is found that will cause serious side effects, but isn't deadly or long term debilitating. The ship crew prepares for irradiation. All ships' functions are locked down for the time that the crew is incapacitated.

 

The expected discomfort doesn't happen at all. The ship receives a strange transmission in Captain Lo'Ami's voice:

"You have been heralded from birth as the instrument of Anu. You are destined to recover the Amulet of Yendor for your deity, or die in the attempt. Your hour of destiny has come. For the sake of us all: Go bravely with Anu!"
