New here! Howdy Hi!

Hey everyone!

I'm new here, been a fan of Star Trek so long as I can remember, earliest memory of star trek for me was having a model Enterprise D for my birthday present when I was 8, I'm 20 now *laughs* sadly the Enterprise D model went just as it's on screen counterpart and was badly damaged, however, recently I have been making models of USS Enterprise A and a Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser out of things around the house, if you want to see them, give me a message and i'll show you them :huh: I'm not fond of my USS Enterprise A models, but I'm proud of my D7 :P

I could say so much about myself and what films, episodes etc I like, but then it wouldn't be so fun, so, ask away if you have anything you wanna ask :P

Take care everyone

Simon

::clears throat::

Welcome!

Two things to remember: 1) Any Academy hosted by STSF N'Dak is a guaranteed suicide mission [And that's a direct quote from his signature]. 2) Never compare the GMs to Captains Bligh or Queeg if you want to get graduate sometime before the turn of the century.

That being said, I'd recommend reading: How to sim, as well as: Tips from the Moose

For all your technobabble needs, visit Memory Alpha or Ex Astris Scientia.

Academy times are listed ET, so adjust as appropriate for your timezone. Academies are mandatory, and everyone is human. Save your character development for your Advanced Ship. Minimum graduation time is 3 Academies, but don't expect to graduate that quickly; the host teams prefer to see how are over a longer span of time. And once you are posted to your first Advanced Sim, it's strongly recommended that any ideas that go outside Trek canon be approved by your host team.

Well, Will's hit you with his list of links, so that should hopefully get you started. :huh: Also, you can check out the transcripts of the Academy training games for new players and the Advanced games for players who have graduated the academy -- http://www.stsf.net/forums/index.php?showforum=64 .

Come to the Academies (the schedule is listed HERE) and the GMs and other players will help you get used to how the game works in short individual one-hour sessions, and from there you'll be able to join an advanced game with a continuous storyline.

Hope this helps. :P

Neither a Constellation or Enterprise class heavy cruiser made a good model in any form of plastic or foam rubber. The pylon structure was wholely inadequate such that the engine pods were forever at cockeyed angles.

Now that I've thoroughly demonstrated my geekdom, welcome among us. :huh:

There's nothing wrong with geeking out, T'Aral. All the TOS Enterprise/Constitution-class ships needed was additional reinforcement in the pylon structure, since the tabs were too small to be actually weight-bearing, and heavy-duty cement (i.e. a cyanoacrylate)
