Weakness

Shamor enters the main security office to wrap up some paperwork for Schawnsee. His recent visit to sickbay, though brief, made him think a lot about how he should handle situations. Normally he would push forward regardless of the consequences, but the situation is different. His bad heart was getting progressively weaker with each passing day to the point where he can't perform his usual training regiment. It also wasn't the knowledge of this weakness that concerned him; yet the awareness that someone is worried about him which has Jon being more careful than usual. As he goes through the reports he theorizes on how he could remedy his situation. He proceeds to think back to the conversation he overheard back when he was on the Antrelli.

 

 

Begin flashback:

 

A few years ago, before being returned to the Reaent

 

Location: Doctor Myra's office, U.S.S. Antrelli

 

Myra looks at her CO with concern. "Captain I need to ask you something about Shamor." "You know that would be violating doctor-patient confidentiality doc" Fulcher says candidly. "Cut the pleasantries sir, there something weird about that Zemun and you know it! His body is loaded with nano probes, that kind of info was not his medical database." "Do you know what these nano-probes are supposed to do? For all we know it could be some sort immune system enhancement to keep him from getting infected by alien diseases." Myra shakes her head "I ran a detailed analysis on them; from what I've seen, they increase the subject's body mass, density, and weight. This could explain why he had a heart attack a few years ago. The prolonged pressure from these probes should have crushed his body."

 

Fulcher paces around Myra's office "if these probes could be removed, would it help him or kill him?" The Klingon doctor thinks for a moment "I believe it could help him. If they were removed carefully, there would be no complications. I was only able to find them after running a detailed scan of Shamor's body. With your permission I would like to take care of the procedure." Fulcher looks Myra in the eyes "permission denied. Your experience with Zemun physiology is severely limited and you'll risk killing him if you mess up. Gather all the data you acquired and send it to Doctor Matthews on the Reaent. Be sure to set it for her eyes only, we don't want any enemies of Shamor to get their hands on this information." She nods as she prepares all her data "given our distance and the amount of data it could take a couple years for this to reach her."

"I hope doctor Matthews got the info Myra supposedly sent. Only thing on my mind is how come I can't detect them using my cybernetic eye. It's possible that the eye, much like the other variants I've used, was deliberately set to not detect them to avoid suspicion. My question is who would do such a thing to…" He grips his chest as he feels his bad heart struggle. Ensign Benson enters the room to see Shamor, rushing over "oh my god! Are you alright sir! Do you need me to call sickbay?" Putting his hand on Benson's shoulder, composing himself "I'm ok; there's no need to worry. I just need to relax from this paperwork." Benson nods as Shamor exits the room. A few seconds after Jon exits Benson taps his combadge "Benson to sickbay, it's about Shamor…"
