Hey everyone!

 

As you can tell...  I've been making some modifications to the message board.  This is in preperation for the launch of our new website (which by chance is not too far away).

 

During the next week or so, you may notice some odd behavior from the message boards as I make modifications to the database engine.  Please bear with me and forgive me for any mistakes that happen during this transition period.  

 

I've still got several things on my "to-do" list of things correct in regards to these boards.  This includes changing all the previously made posts to a color that is able to be read.  (All new posts will be easily readable, but I've got to manually go back and change the color of each post on this board so that it works with the new color scheme.)  I also need to redo the smiley images.  They were saved with a white matte background, so I need to go back and save them again for the black scheme.  That will correct the little white shadows on the images.

 

In addition, the navigation at the top will have a couple of new areas.  These new areas are not up and running yet, so the link to them will not take you anywhere.  Don't panic about that just yet.  :(

 

Thank you for your patience during this transition period.  I'm a one-man team so it takes a bit of time to get everything done.

I like the new design and all, but I just wanted to know, are all the posts gonna be w/this kinda blackishgrey background and white text? I don't know about anyone else, but to much white on black isn't completly pleasant.

Now I'm seeing black text on a really dark background, which is really hard to read. Am I the only one who sees this?

Mm, the buttons by the topic names (the blue or white ones) need that done too... I don't know if it was just that shadow throwing me off, but it was really difficult to tell the blue from the white today.

Hey, warn us when you're going to completely color-reverse something; I thought my eyes were going for a moment there.  :(   That said, I think I like them.  Need to use them more to get used to it.

 

What is it with boards going light-on-dark? This is the third one I read to do it this week.  ???

Agreed w/teh color buttons, I'm having trouble telling what has new posts, and what doesn't.

 

And to your second comment Laura, your first reaction, very, whats teh word, oh, there is it, animated.

 

Hehehehe, at least your a doctor and can repair any injures you sustained to yourself when you fell backwards.  :(

Hey, I did it. Hehehehe, now I can read what I post. Though white still might not be the easiest color on my eyes. Eh, I just need some sunglasses.  :cool:

 

A little hint to anyone, if you change your colors, but previous posts are still in black background, go to the post. Click "edit", don't change anything in the post, then hit "submit modified post". The color will change to the new one you are using.

I'd say to be sure that you update your profile so that your text appears in white. Hopefully all will do this so we'll all be able to read.

Personally I like white...but I'm certain other colors will work good as well.

 

What about red?

What about purple?

Let's not forget green...

I kinda liked the blue/teal color type on the original navigation page so  I selected that as my color. I hope this is easy on the eyes.

 

I was wondering if the signature box color can be changed via editing my options? Having a little trouble reading mine!

I'll be starting a "Request List" thead in the next few minutes.  This thread will be for anything you would like to see different about these message boards.  

 

I'll use it when working on new features, design issues, and GUI design (Graphical User Interface).

 

Please remember...  I can't promise to use EVERY suggestion.  ::(:   But it will help me in working out what you would most useful for you here on the message boards.  Some suggestions I may be able to impliment right away.  Others might take some time to work on.  And there will be some that are just plain impossible.  I do want to hear your suggestions though.
