HISTORY:

 

Deborah's parents, both physicians, were killed in an accident shortly after their daughter's fourth birthday. Young Debbie was raised by her paternal grandparents, Virgil and Rose at Redstone Colony, Mars. Virgil was a Starfleet engineer retiring with the rank of Captain. He remains active at Utopia Planetia Fleet Yards where he has been stationed for over twenty years. Rose Matthews is a physician who still practices medicine.

 

Deborah Matthews was the oldest Cadet in her Academy class. She successfully completed medical school and finished her internship and residency before deciding to enter Starfleet. Deborah's performance at the Academy was above average, placing eighteenth in her class. Though she often felt out of place socially with the much younger Cadets, Matthews focused on her goal of practicing medicine aboard a starship within the fleet.

 

Doctor Matthew's first assignment after graduation was aboard the U.S.S. Regayov, under the command of Captain Griff Miller. Transfered a month later, her stay aboard this vessel was brief. Deborah's next posting was aboard the U.S.S. Phoenix, commanded by Captain Fred Michaels. The Doctor's tour of duty aboard this vessel was exemplary, earning a promotion while aboard. This assignment came to an end when she requested a transfer to the U.S.S. Reaent, an Ambassador Class ship undergoing a complete refit at Utopia Planetia. Since her transfer to the Reaent, Doctor Deborah "Debbie" Matthews has proven herself to be a seasoned officer and a talented physician.
