Vilanne

Hit by an Asteroid

There was no more anesthezine flowing to kill the pain and her unconscious state was occasionally interrupted by the voices around her as she became slightly alert. The brief times that Vilanne could pull apart her eyes and try to focus, she saw the red glow hovering around the heads of those near her. Even though the lights were dim, her eyes had a hard time with that much light so she left them shut. More than ever, she felt as if she'd been hit by an asteroid, one that was on fire and coming at full force into her chest.

She had a hard time breathing, often trying to motion by barely lifting her neck until someone would help adjust her body at a slight level to give her lungs a break from the strain. Her body was healing naturally, from the surgical help as well as the few nanites running loose that had been reactivated in her blood stream. Their instructions were simply to amplify standard body functions, so when there was a break, they tried to aid. There were not enough to make the repairs as would be standard for a nanite group, but the efforts of the little buggers was helping her natural healing.

There was the problem of Dr. Chalice's fever, which had increased since the end of the surgery. Her skin was producing a mild warmth to help fight infection. While she was lying so close to the floor, the hum of the engines kept her calm. The strange Romulan craft had vibration and ambient noises she wasn't familiar with that helped her remain calm. Every time Jaiysa ran the scanner over her body, she tried to pry her eyes open and focus on the woman. She didn’t recognize the face and all of the Romulan features on everyone around her were strange. She knew she wasn’t being tortured, so she wasn’t panicking… or was she? The few times she was alert enough to string a few thoughts together, but one phrase kept repeating …

"It's honorable...to heal..." Her body was trying to do just that.
