Deadly Dust Bunnies

Deadly Dust Bunnies

Tactical Officers Log: Eagle,James,T.Lt.Sg. U.S.S. Arcadia NCC-1742-E

The meeting with Captain Lo Ami in Sam's office went well and all data from my research have been forwarded to the Science's/Medical department's and copy forwarded to engineering. In my preceding years prior to Arcadia...as A Physician I have never seen anything quite like this alien organism.

After looking over the reports from the various effected departments and their experiences I initiated an in depth search of the historical medical and scientific archives of the Fleet. I vaguely remembered reading some past exploits and encounters from earlier ships of the line. The Enterprise under command of Capt. James T.Kirk came to mind and the report from the ships surgeon and doctor,Dr. McCoy.

There had apparently been an incident while on mission. An encounter with an alien life form had similar results as we have been experiencing here on the Arcadia. The prompt for my research actually triggered by a comment from the science division. The comment indicated that exposure to ultra violet radiation in sufficient quantity should actually disable,or destroy this menace.

The problem with the remedy and the crux of the matter lay within the solution ...How do we gain exposure to that type of radiation without literally burning ourselves to a crisp near a sun ?. The light went on as memories from medical school clicked. The resulting data retrieved may at least enable us to either destroy the alien spores or slow the progression of their infiltration and subsequent infection of the crew.

I am sure between the Science dept.,and Medical dept. the proper wavelength and type of ultraviolet radiation can be established to prevent any injury to the crew as what occurred to the Chief Science Officer of the Enterprise.

The Captain had ordered to proceed towards a viable solution to our dilemma working closely with the other departments. We must clearly pull together in this effort as the incidents are occurring more frequently and we dare not wait too long,or waste precious time. Time is the one thing we cannot allow to progress without action.

Security and Engineering as well as the other departments are working towards a common goal to help isolate and possibly reduce the deadly dust from spreading as is humanly possible. We have our assigned task's to pursue...and time is clicking by second by second...minute by minute, our old friend may have turned into a foe. End Log:Beep! ;)
