Yes! ::victory Dance:: I got 12:01 tickets, to see the premier on Friday, at the most Cosplay friendly theater in Seattle. I am so glad they weren't sold out. Now I just have to figure out how to stay up that late without falling asleep....

Caffeine...lots of caffeine

Where is SLE this year anyways?

~Ali

Hunt Valley, Maryland.

She eats it?! She is given such a precious, incalculable treasure and she looks for milk and she eats it?!

::would have placed it in a vacuum-sealed case:: [/sarcasm]

How does it taste? ;)

Darn right I'm eating the Star Trek cereal - and, it's not bad.

we get neither Star Trek cereals nor much merchandise around here, which I find really unfair. I haven't seen anything beyond magazines having a couple of posters.

But at least the time difference is a good thing for us over here for once. I'm going to see the film on Wednesday at 8pm CET. I have no clue why they have a showing at 8pm (and in English, too) on Wednesday as films over here are usually released on Thursdays, but I'm not going to complain. Means I don't have to go at midnight and walk home and possibly miss Agincourt.

What??! You've not moved on from the cereal yet and started getting your Burger King glasses and kids meal toys?

(Still have my original Star Wars glasses from 1977 with Darth Vader and my C-3PO and R2 glass...brother broke my Luke and Chewbacca ones'!)

Trek Glasses at Burger King

Anyway, here is Burger King's line of new glasses, and the toys. Also, the Star Trek meals star shaped chicken nuggets. .... And even as creepy as the Burger King is..... Burger Klingon?

Ok, I am starting to think, the commercialization of this new movie, has gone too far. I mean, Burger King? Come on!

Well I bought an USS Enterprise toy from the new movie. It talks! I'll leave it at that.

CBS/Paramount spent 160 million on this film. This is all or nothing...and they went in the pot with everything.

With that type of budget. There *should* be some promotional tie-in sponsorship somewhere.

The Fate of Star Trek Movies rests with this one.

Thats the key, -some- promotional tie-ins. The perfume and fragrances is just pushing it.

Well, at least we know, with all this merchandise, Star Trek will never die.

Just to get back to the "advance previews and when is it really coming out" thing, this is becoming increasingly common.

My girlfriend at the time and I saw the movie "3 Kings" that way.

Pecip still hates me for this, but through another Star Trek site I found out that Battlestar Galactica: Razor had advance showings in theatres a couple months before being shown on SciFi. I even got in free.

Yes, yes, I *do* tend to have a one track mind.

.... there are no McCoy Burger King glasses. Tees me off to no end.

Yes, I remember the excessive "branding" that was going on for 'STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE,' it was everywhere. In fact I recall a cartoon in The New Yorker at the time (I only read it for the cartoons) that looked like a table at a restaurant in Little Italy in NYC and there was an ashtray on the table imprinted with 'STAR TREK THE ASHTRAY'

That's how I will always remember the first movie (kinda like Cattlecar Gigantica, but that's for a different thread)

lol. I wish I could get to auditions without barfing, but its getting better. Anyways, all my friends convinced me 12:01 on friday would be better. I think its because they get a discount at some all night diner if they come after 10. Whatever.

7:00 PM Thursday... ;) Got my tickets this week. I was surprised it wasn't sold out. Then again, I live in the heart of NASCAR country...

I misread that at first, and thought you said NASACAR. What does NASCAR stand for anyway?

National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing.

I am gonna try to convince someone with a car to take me to Burger King tonight, I think. I'm feeling like the last person in the world who hasn't seen these glasses.

Definitely not in the world, I haven't seen em either... it'd be quite the journes just for some glasses, even if they're Star Trek.

Apparently, most Star Trek fans are disappointed in the new movie. CLICK HERE to find out why.

(Warning: This is an Onion video, which is known for being a little racy sometimes.)

Considering I'm being insulted by the stereotype in that video I probably shouldn't have laughed so much, lol.
