Summary

Born of a priveleged and wealthy family in London, the precocious and outgoing Lisanna was given every opportunity during her childhood to learn the skills and methods to advance both aspects of her family's fortunes. She was disenchanted from a very early age, however the very training she received allowed her to keep these desires well hidden under the proper visages for a long time. Her domineering mother, Regina, was pruning her offspring to follow directly in her footsteps. Lisanna engaged in few battles with this powerful woman, though with the the help of her father did manage to gain pilot training as a 13
th
birthday present. She became a very capable pilot in short order, and for her 16
th
birthday was given a luxury shuttle that she named
Starlight
.

As the time approached for Lisanna to come of age, Regina enrolled her at Oxford University to begin studies in the Deparment of Politics and Imperial Studies. For the first and last time, Lisanna stood her ground and refused her mother's directives, instead signalling her intentions to join Starfleet. After a horrible argument, neither side moved from their position. The young woman immediately applied for Starfleet, and as a few weeks passed the Stuart household was unnaturally quiet and tense. Then Lisanna received a communique from Starfleet that her application was rejected. As she came from family in high standing, had excellent grades, and was more than adequately qualified, it became clear to the young woman that her mother had used her influence to deny this route to her. After another shouting match and a frightful argument, Lisanna packed her belongings and slipped out of the family estate that night.

Instead of flying the Starlight to Oxford as her mother commanded, Lisanna instead set a course for Iceland. At the construction site at Akureyri where the
Starlight
was built she sold back her luxurious planet-hopping shuttle quickly and quietly. Taking a taxi shuttle to the orbital station with the cash in hand from the sale and other moneys she'd stashed away over the years, she negotiated a ride aboard an outgoing cargo ship and left the Sol system as a passenger.

Arriving at the edge of the Empire, Lisanna traded in her priveleged but rigidly guided life and found a crew in need of a pilot, where she could live her life the way she damn well pleased. The fact that they were pirates didn't bother her in the slightest. Though there has been and continue to be some suspicion of her due to her Terran heritage, her no-nonsense, cheery attitude and lack of overt arrogance has allowed her to co-exist with them while her piloting skills have been unimpeachable, even if the occasional antacid may be required during more intense maneuvers.
