STSF Precip

"Sidelined"

Precip had now been in sickbay for almost 2 hours. He had never expereinced radiation poisoning before and his symptoms were a bit unnerving to him especially seeing the blood he vomitted in a bucket next to his biobed.

Dr. Chalice had provided him with medication that during the last hour had eased the pain quite a bit. and the dry heaves were easing away But for some reason Mitar still felt as if his strength had left him. Dehydration? He couldn't tell..but he knew he was in good hands with Dr. Mele and his staff. They'd get him off the sideline and back on duty at the best time possible.

Precip was conversing with Faldek when he heard the sole survivor of the Dorsal Module insisting he speak with the Captain..he MUST speak with the Captain regarding the mission.

Mitar thought he had heard the word "plague" while he was in sickbay from James and Sovak's first conversation. A Plague? Where? On Romulus?..Would the Romulans hide something like that? Would Starfleet deliver something like that to Romulus? Unthinkable?! He regretted not hearing the entire conversation. It would certainly of shed light into why Manticore was dispatched to Romulus by the Federation Council itself. A mission of mercy or a mission to spread death? Mitar just didn't know what entirely the Federation had planned here. He could only imagine the rumors flying around the ship right now if he couldn't figure out what was going on.

What he did know however was that "James" was the sole survivor of a covert operations team that was basically wiped out by a radiation leak from a Romulan Shuttlecraft's power supply. "James'" entire team was dead, and his means of infiltrating Romulus, the mysterious Romulan Shuttle damaged...beyond repair even by Chief Garnoopy's valiant efforts. The ship probably was glowing now in the Dorsal Module from all that radiation that killed "James"' team.

::wince:: Mitar's stomach cramped slightly. ... A Major Federation OP blown by some piece of Romulan hardware. Couldn't "James" See his mission was lost? Why was he being so persistant? Mitar didn't know. Did he honestly think Manticore's crew could salvage this debacle? Could Manticore's crew stop a plague? Or start one on Romulus? Precip knew Manticore had one heck of a medical staff, but there are limits in numbers of personnel, timing and of course ethics if Manticore was delivering a biological weapon.

"Place yourself on the sideline Mitar" he muttered...hopefully unheard by Faldek next to him. He just didn't know the whole picture..and get worked up about things would make him feel....uh...

Precip turned to face the bucket again
