"Balancing, Adrenaline, and Power Fluctuations

"Balancing, Adrenaline, and Power Fluctuations"

-Felix Karrigan Log-

Felix grabbed the edge of the pool table to regain his balance as the Breen and the Ferengi ships hit their mark. He didn't want to seat down during this entire ruckus even though there's a seat right next to him. In the first impacts of the opposing ships, the Agincourt shook as it was supposed to when under enemy fire, a familiar feeling nonetheless. But as the engagement continues, Felix noticed that the ship shook harder. He began to think that the battle is getting intense…or perhaps it's just the adrenaline rushing through his veins as his body goes to overdrive.

Main Engineering wasn't exactly in chaos but it was close to it. The engineering crew was in constant motion. Some were carrying repair kits for internal damages and some take their place on control consoles making sure that the ship has enough power distribution…every single one of them trying to stay on their feet.

This wasn't his first time being exposed in battle. In fact, the very first battle he experienced was when he was a cadet in Starfleet Academy. When the Soltans attacked Earth, some of the cadets were asked to help out and Felix was one of them. The battle, if you can call it that, wasn't in their favor as the Soltans wiped through them. Felix quickly stopped thinking about that terrible day. He was a little overwhelm as he received the updated internal damages from Damage Control teams throughout the ship. But thanks to the adrenaline rush, he was able to ignore his emotions and continue to monitor any power fluctuations. He examined the damage list then he spots a power problem. There was power fluctuation in Deck 9 due to a damaged power relay. He opens up a live schematic of Deck 9 and taps the image of the damaged power relay. With a few more taps, he was able to re-route the power around the damaged power relay. His only fear was that the procedure he pulled off could overload the power conduit nearby if the damaged power relay isn't repaired soon.

"...if this doesn't work, o boy…Kairi's gonna have a long talk with me…"

His thoughts were cut off when he grips the pool table once again as the ship shakes from weapon impacts. He's just glad that the inertial dampers are doing their jobs well. He'll have to thank the Beta shift for that one. More internal damages popped up the screen.

"Dorsal shield at 47 percent!" a midshipman shouted so all of engineering could hear.

Felix quickly turned his head in the general direction of the midshipman, then he turn to his screen to find out if there's a possible way to boost the dorsal shield. To his surprise, someone was already boosting the shield. He tracked down who's doing it and looked up at the ensign at the shield generator controls. The ensign nods at Felix in acknowledgement. One of the engineering crew walked up to Felix.

"Felix, we've got another problem"

"Alright..shoot."

"There's a sensor data lag in our port sensor system. It began when the strife started"

"Did you find out what's causing it?"

"Yes…damage control believes that the port sensor pallet is unbalanced, but didn't you guys already fixed that earlier?"

"Sensor pallet…? Are you serious? We were about to fix the damn thing when the klaxons turned on…Well is it that serious?"

"If we leave it unbalanced for too long, we might have a bigger problem later on our.…"

The crewman was cut off in the middle of his sentence when the ship shook again. Felix lost his balance and was forced into the seat next to him.

"Great."
