Tolian glanced out the window of the starship, as the white specks of stars rushed by. Streaming like tassels in the wind. He was here, he was on his way to Earth. For the first time in a long time he had felt good about himself and his goals ahead. To enter Starfleet Academy. It was all that he could think about over the last twenty years. He had been forced from his home years before by the Borg, watching those that he loved and cared for be assilimated right before his eyes. It was only sheer dumb luck that let his escape El-Auria. (Although not cannon, Wiki says that this is the best guess for the home planet of the El-Aurians). Boarding a ship with others, refugees some would call them, Tolian knew that it would be a long time before he saw his home again. If what happen next was not worse. A Romulan transport, started trailing the refugees, and when they offered there assistance in aid, the ones controling the refugee ship, allowed the Romulans access. One of the worst things that could have happen. Waking up a week later with water dowessed on my face was not generally a inviting respite. The transport had disabled the refugee ship and boarded, taking the El-Aurians prisoner, and making most if not all slaves to the Romulan Star Empire. Spending years working in the mines on Remen where taxing on Tolian to say the least. Hardening him, making his will stronger with each lashing. When the Slaves rebeled, there was a chance for Tolian to slip through the cracks in security and make his escape. At the loss of others lives in the process, which Tolian still to this day harbors much grief and guilt for.

 

After escaping Remen and finding a transport off the Planet, which surely cost him. More costing of his morals than anything else. Years have passed and Tolian remembers those whom were lost. His family, his friends, the fellow miners he worked with side by side many a day. All things of guilt. Finding his way into federation space was his next mission. He had heard of the Federation of Planets, and their accomplishments over the borg from time to time. This made Tolian interested. Maybe the Academy was someplace where he could do some good.

 

Looking out at the stars, he sighs remembering those that were left behind.

Hiya and welcome to STSF; this is a wicked cool site to RPG sim on.

 

El-Aurians are indeed welcomed Tolian, but a full on character won't be necessary until you get settled on one of the Advanced Games.

 

All "cadets" start in the Academy system, and every Player starts out as a Human during the Acad games just to keep things simple. You're more then welcome to post logs such as the one above during your Academy time; several past Cadets have done so as well, and it's a nice tie in for future Advanced game logs.

 

Once you graduate from the Acad system, you send an email to Personnel, pick a ship and posting from the listing depending on what night you can make as well as what type of ship/era/sim you prefer, and are placed on an Advanced sim.

 

The Academy times (Eastern Standard):

 

Sunday at 3PM

Monday and Wednesdays at 10PM

Thursdays and Fridays at 9PM

Saturdays in character Red Star Lounge at 11PM, and an Academy at 12 Midnight

A most excellent log, Mr. Soran. Generally all academy cadets are human unless the GM states otherwise. However, you may, with the permission of your advanced simulation CO, create a character of another species when you graduate. Welcome to STSF. I look forward to working with you.
