Personal Log: Hilee,Richard,B.,Lt.,Asst.Engineer,Warp Theorist,Ph.D.,U.S.S Manticore

Computer begin log:..Beep: The past few days finalizing the repairs on Manticore have been interesting is an absolute understatement to say the least. Our stay here at Star Base#9 had been overall uneventful and rather enjoyable to some degree.

The brief shore leave granted by Commander Garnoopy did avail the gathering of new updated technology I am sure will be of use to Engineering in the future. The time to explore that automated station revealed invaluable to me as it allowed a wider view of the capabilities and advancements of the fleets most recent technological achievements.

The leave was enjoyed by others as was evidenced by the arrival of my friend Lt.Commander Faldek...we enjoyed an hour of banter and catching up on things when we decided to return to Manticore. The timing was excellent for no sooner than we had re boarded the Captain announced all leave was canceled with crew to return to duty which was not surprising. The next announcement did come as a bit of a shock...the India team as it was referred to had come aboard to "Assist" in the repairs of Manticore.

The word Cooperate did not fall on deaf ears,I spoke to Faldek briefly and reported to Chief Garnoopy as being back onboard with additional parts and new tech updates for the shuttles,as well as necessary hardware and software for the main engines and systems repairs. After reporting in and making my way to Main Engineering ...passing a few new and unknown faces in the corridor, the gut reaction and the hackles on my neck had begun to stand up a bit.

The thought of unknown repair techs in engineering and fooling around with our systems and engines began to concern me a bit. Entering engineering and looking around at the total chaos going on was a bit unsettling ...making my way to Doug T. I inquired as to what in the name of all reason was going on. The report was short and sweet as he continued to work on the impulse engines,Nodding...I proceeded to the mains console where there was one of our new "Helpers"...I remember he was referred to as #5,literally knee deep into the systems...pulling,rerouting,keying in commands all the while having some kind of social communicae with one of his fellows...and in so doing not paying strict attention to his work.

I attempted to intervene in the spirit of cooperation we had been ordered to do,My attempt to do so was met not only with total indifference...oh no...it was met with pure contempt and a total disregard to a direct order from a superior officer. The latter could be worked with as we had no knowledge of each other...,and a possible misunderstanding is understandable considering what we have been through, The next little occurrence was not however acceptable...I had just given an order to slow down....and therefore decrease the possibilities of an accident,or misapplication of the systems...which had apparently been going on...when zip I found myself beamed to ten forward.

The sheer insolence and brazen attitude towards others and in my opinion his cavalier attitude towards his work on this ship should in the least warrant this young, fresh from the academy pup have his ears pinned back and dutifully and thoroughly indoctrinated in the proper ways to work with others and keep some semblance of professional pride in his assignments. I attempted to beam back to engineering when it became obvious my personal command codes had been rerouted and overridden presumably by either that young Ensign...or one of his fellow cohorts in crime.

Making my way to a lift ...keying my comm device I relayed a comm to Commander Garnoopy that he may desire to have security standing by to protect #5...for at that moment I was enthralled with the idea of pinching off his wee head, and spacing it along with the rest of him out of the nearest air lock. I continued towards MENG fuming at the thought of this individual as well as his other team members were literally raising havoc with this ship, the systems, and subsequently the crew as it pertained to our duties. I am aware they were supposed to be there to help and assist...from what I have observed we would be much better off with Loki and a full compliment of Gremlins helping us.

Turning the corner and entering MENG my thoughts had settled down a bit...I could have had security escort him out of engineering, placed under arrest...and let him cool off a bit in the brig...No, I have something much more fitting in mind for him...along with my formal report to the Commander I suggested he be transferred to another duty station that would be more fitting for his talents. I propose he be assigned post haste to be Commander Wolfe's personal engineering assistant.

The thought remained with me for the duration of the teams stay here on Manticore had they been actually sent to assist or were they there to disrupt....possibly concealing their real intents and mission...well which ever it be smoke and mirrors or true idiocy and incompetence ...to India # 5..."Let him beware". Computer end log:..Bleep...!
