"Mistletoe and Battleships"

Mistletoe. There was mistletoe in her Sickbay. Dear gods -- didn't the little holiday do-gooder know that mistletoe was poisonous? And of course, that was the positive side of it.

Fiona pulled on a pair of gloves, disposing of the offending, half-dried-out sprig and shaking her head. How a poisonous plant became the holiday symbol of sexual preludes was just another of her species' customs that made absolutely no sense to her.

Sickbay cleansed of the pollutant, she retired to her office, setting up her newly-acquired game and carefully positioning her mug on its proper coaster. To her great joy, it fit nicely, perched neatly on the little square.

This new game that the Caitian had presented her with was... positively delicious. It had the most wonderful sound effects integrated into it, and as well as stretching the tactical braincells, it fulfilled the task of entertaining her while the new medical journals uploaded.

Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. Bam. There went the aircraft carrier.

In addition to providing endless entertainment, it also was inspiring some historical inquiry; specifically, the significance of each of the archaic sailing vessels. It really amused her far too easily, but... ah well. There were worse things than an afternoon of distraction.
