A day time sim

Dear STSF people. Can you imagine siting at home doing nogthing and the only thing you can do is go to a chat room?Well that happens every day for me because i live in the middle fo now where. My idea is that because its summer and that there are so many teens out there that like too sim that we should have a sim like at 2:00 PM Central time any day except weekends. Please listen to my idea and if there are no GMs available to watch the sim or what ever the reason it cant happen so be it.

The issue here is the long term. Not even looking at the issue of finding a GM who would be available to run it, advanced sims are long term games. Such a sim would have a very hard time being viable outside of a certain season. The rest of the time, it would have an extremely hard time finding players.

 

In addition, you would probably need to try to start a new Academy sim to support this game. That brings into question another two GMs. Again, is such a sim going to be viable outside of a certain season?

As mentioned, requirements can be found at the About Us section. However, just to quickly list them...

 

[*]Must be an STSF advanced sim player with a minimum tenure of one year, six months of that at the rank of Lt. Commander or higher.

[*]All applicants must also be at least 18 years of age or older.

[*]Ability to GM a minimum of one to two games each week

[*]Ability to multitask

[*]Interest and knowledge of Star Trek shows, movies (or both)!

[*]Interest and knowledge of Role-Playing games

[*]Friendly on-screen personality

[*]Detail-oriented and excellent spelling and grammatical skills

[*]Basic computer skills such as copy/paste and saving files

The third one is a biggie, and particularly apropos to your question.  The GM has to commit to do one to do sims EVERY week.  Lots of folks count on them showing up, so we are careful, especially when starting up new sims, to be sure it will be a long term commitment to our players.

 

Now, if we have some GM's that are willing and able to do a 2PM weekday sim, every week, of course we'll do it!
